You are not being selfish by any stretch, it seems to me that your sister has taken full advantage of you. Express how you feel and if she doesn't listen or won't change then ask her to leave. I understand that this might be the hardest thing. I allowed my stepdaughter and a long time family friend to move in with me it was the biggest mistake I ever made. When I lost my job of nearly 7 years, instead of being supportive of me, they kept pushing me further and further into despair. Fortunately my father and mother allowed me to move in with them until I could get on my feet again. Do not allow your sister to do the same to you, ask her what her plans are as far as moving into a new place with her children. I hope this helps you, you always have friends here with us.View Thread
Acceptance is a difficult challenge especially of this illness, but it is well worth the effort. It is a trial and error with different medicines, but you are blessed if you have a good doctor that actually listens to you and more importantly understands your fibromyalgia. Hang in there and don't give in or give up, I pray you have more good days than bad.
Sometimes due to the immense pain I am in, I find it helpful to make fruit smoothies with Greek yogurt and juice. This way I'm getting the calcium, protein, and the fiber from the fruit. I avoid all foods with MSG as they are my biggest trigger for migraines.
Its way cheaper to make your own then to buy them.View Thread
I live in Florida and the summertime seems to be the worse time for my fibro to flare nearly 100% of the time. I was wondering for folks who live further north, if the colder temperatures also make fibromyalgia more difficult or does it help the fibro to improve? When it does it cold here the panhandle of Florida, I feel better and more motivated to do things, this is another reason why I wish I could afford to move. Let me know, thanks.View Thread
I can empathize, the pain does seem to be more intense especially if the period is really heavy, I know for me the pain is more intense as is the craving for chocolate and the irritability factor is increased as well. When I'm in a lot of pain I take very warm baths sometimes hot enough to turn my skin red.
