It's this thought process that really ticks me off. There isn't one drug or combo that works for all of us. That's the biggest problem!!
Just a small vent as I sit here in burning pain..View Thread

When I see people struggle to stay alive in other countries my pain disappears 100% while I start searching the Internet for ways to help.
My best distraction is my teacup poodle and searching for new salad ideas for my vegan husband.View Thread

Use to love to read but have cataracts and I can't focus long. I have an IPH so I download audio books. If the reader has a good voice it's very pleasant. Very nice in the summer sitting on the deck watching the birds etc. the library also has audio books. Just a thought.

I can't remember have you been chkd for lupus and arthritis type issues? Just got the big needle stuck in my so called good knee. It was such a slow process I didn't relize my knees were so swollen they were the width of my thighs. From falling. Now have bone spurs pressing on the nerves. The rt knee still healing from fracture and my walker and left knee are trying to do the job. Can you laugh with me?
Since the shot my knee just buckles. Not feeling safe. Stood up from the bed and toppled over into the chair.
Ahh 60 in April. Will I be looking for a candy apple 3 wheel scooter? I don't feel that old. Wasn't Woodstock just over the week end?
There's a post before this. Sending the smile

P.S. being on the F patch and having Valium -if you still are- then we need to focus on a support group where you can meet people in person. Gosh I would pay to have someone come over and watch the discovery channel and talk. I'm way to isolated. Take careView Thread

This makes me very sad to see on several points.
Your not getting the relief you should, some Meds shouldn't be cut in half. You always mention your very lucky to have a Dr who hears you and treats your pain.
Will you do me a favor? First call your ins and see if they do prescriptions by mail. Your Dr fills out a form for the med and faxes it to them. You'll get a 90 day supply at a MUCH cheaper price plus refills can be added on most scripts just like normal They arrive by mail in just a couple of days.
My second thought is to tell your Dr what you've been doing. Ask her to write the script for a stronger dose so you can cut that one in half and end up with the dose she WANTED you to have. There has to be trust which I think you two have and it helps if their frustrated by the system now also. You also don't get refills sooner but later.
Another thing I found out by accident one day, was my Dr wrote my Extended Release medicine for a lower quantity . #30 instead of #60. The #30 cost more!! I called the drug store and was told it wasn't a mistake. Check with your drug store on the cost of the higher dose $ and the larger quantity .
It's a win win for you and I think all Drs can understand so many people are having tough financial times.
I hope those of you holding off on Meds and cutting in half will check it out. If your not upfront with your Dr there going to wonder why aren't you getting relief!??
I know it sounds like a grey area but if your on disibility it could help you get the pain relief you need. Sending out a smileView Thread

We hit 69' in NE. On Monday. Calling for high 30's on Thur I just don't get the mid-west but I'm down with migraines 1-3x a week now. We've gone into TStorm season and any headache person knows about barometric pressure changes. A killer. Last year every week from Feb - Sep. I'm ready to move. This is the longest place I've ever lived my whole life. Starting year #7.
Take care everyone. Sending out smiles

It's very strange. Shell jump up smell my nose and boom she's gone for help. Right as I say what the heck well all hell breaks loose

I just want to say I see your still struggling and I'm sorry you didn't get tons of replies your first post but it will happen. Have to remember everyone is feeling the effects of this illness. I've found they seem to be early risers so morning or the middle of the night are best times to post. They will be at the top of the headers.
I just put up some web sites I found. I wish I could remember which but on the left side it said how to find a Dr in your area.!!!!! Otherwise just use a search site and type in Drs in was it RI? It should bring up a list. At this point I still say pick any body. Primary, female, arthritis, fibro, nuro and so on. They will see you and since I think you said your town was small, they should know someone. Otherwise with your suffering go to the next biggest town PLEASE! You don't have to say you have fibro. "I'm having terrible body pain, fatigue chronic headaches. I don't know what's going on. I'm desperate"! Just get the appt!
You've gotta get mad and quickly use the energy you get. Leave off pain centers and Drs till later. I'll probaly get creamed on this comment , but they never gave me the help/relief I needed anyway.
Now as for a pet. I don't know what type of dog you had but you need a lover now that's not a lot of weight on you. My dog is paper trained so on bad days I don't have to risk the stairs or worry about her. I cheat most days and throw the toy down the hall till she's beat.
Otherwise, if you like them, a cat would be PERFECT for you. (I'm allergic). There house trained, you could rescue one at whatever age you might want!, and they love to snuggle. Oh Mpathia I can hear it purring next to you on the bed or couch. if you want a dog just search for low energy dogs or good for apt living. You'll get a list. I checked it out for you. It wouldn't hurt to rescue an older dog either. Their lonely also but no puppy stage. I paper trained my Dana in one week. It got me up to early for a month but I love her so much. We are together 24/7.
You could interact and they just love us for who we are. That's perfect when you feel awful
. If you rescue a teenager they'll come fixed w/shots and the fee is lower then if you did on your own. I'm on a roll but I think you should have a friend. They keep our broken spirit renewed. Oh yes you don't have to walk cats and she/ he could be an indoor kitty. Remember you can't pet fish

If you want to talk more personally we could consider email address.?? I don't do that often but if you think I'm an "Angel" you must have a sense of humor like me!!
I wanna see a positive-I got results- in the next week. I push you to help yourself outta this struggle- you help me.
Sending a soft touch on the shoulder and a smile
I'll be thinking about you.View ThreadINCLUDES OUR LOVED ONES

Many explain areas of the body affected by fibro plus give test that can be done to chk these areas plus other resources. I'm not going to dissect each site. Search if you want.
One listed trials being done and one how to find a Dr in your area. In other words a ton of info. Don't stop reading if you just see symptoms because some offer links as you go along.
I'm not typing in www- etc unless it might make a difference, I think if the right pg comes up. Good luck, print it out, hope we all find something to use or learn. NO SPECIAL ORDER
1). Nfra. -(national fibro research assoc.)
2). Nationalfibromyalgiainstitute.org
3). NSF/fibro (sleep foundation)
4). Clinicaltrials.gov
5). NFA (nat. fibro assoc.)
6). LAP (leaders against pain)
7). NFMCPA (nat fibro & chronic pain assoc)
. fmcpaware.org (fibro myalgia chronic pain) 9). American chronic pain association

I'm blurry eyed and haven't had just a nap since Sat morning. I hope I made no mistakes in spelling etc. I would print this for reference and when you feel good use a search engine. If I'm off it should be close enough to ask did you mean this?
Id love to help even just one person. Your my support group and have been here for me so often. I just want to thank you all again!
I found some test I'm going to ask to have done, if they can get the blood out of me... I know don't post it drink a ton before going in.
I'm laying here on fire with pain so I must sign off at 4;10a.m. CST. Anybody else keep these hours? Took my 2 Halcion not even drowsy, what a messed up brain. By the way many sites did talk about the brain miss- firing after trauma of some kind be it illness or injury. I had to just start quickly scanning the site to see what was offered vision just to blurry.
Ok buddies have a great week, good weather and spirits!
Sending out a touch on the shoulder and a smile to all
P.S. if you find any sites really helpful please let me know.View ThreadINCLUDES OUR LOVED ONES
