Hello, I havent posted in awhile The past six weeks have been really rough between the death of our family dog, the end of the semester for school (still have high As in all my classes), and breaking two cell phones (main form of communication to the outside world).
I also managed to severly sprain my ankle yesterday when I missed a curb. Fortuniately there was no fracture. The doctor wanted me on crutches but I couldnt do it, because of the increased back pain and I have two small children, so chasing them around on crutches is out of the question. We settled on a gel cast and ace wrap and I need to see an ortho if its not better in a week.
Nancy, Im jealous of your massage If money wasnt so tight around the holidays I would schedule myself for a massage.
My 8 year old is being a total sweetheart and rubbing my feet for me. I dont know how I ended up with such amazing children but I wouldnt trade them for the world.View Thread
I have tried various things to help me sleep, both natural and prescription. Right now I take zanaflex, ambien, and trazadone before bed which seems to work okay. I have also tried advil pm, valerian root, melatonin, benedyrl and gaba.View Thread
Last night was rough but I am feeling a lot better this morning. I have a king size heating pad that is my best friend. I get the results in two weeks, and I decided if I have to get anything else done, Im going to ask my PCP who prescribes my norco, if he would be willing to prescribe something stronger to take for a day or to after (my gyno is not familiar with fibro).View Thread
Well I went for the consultation yesterday and he ended up doing the procedure there. My doctor really went out of his way to make sure I was comfortable, including waiting a full five minutes to let the numbing gel do what it was supposed to do.
The recovery has not been very easy. I was told to take advil for cramps and I would be fine. Well I have been taking norco, zanaflex and four advil every four hours with Very little relief. I am getting cramps and well as pain in my lower back, hips, and down my legs.
I am scouring the internet trying to find some relief or connection to the excessive pain and fibro.View Thread
Spark, Im sorry your dealing with a flare right now. Have you tried massage? You could be dealing with some nasty trigger points that are excaburating your pain. I swear by my heating pads (car, bed, and a battery operated heating pad for when Im out). I also keep some one use ice packs with me at all times, they can get pricey but IMHO worth the expense. I am also a fan of biofreeze and arnica gel (i use arnica when I dont want to offend people with the smell of bio).View Thread
I discovered the OB/GYN who delivered my son is still practicing. I didnt realize he moved his office. I absolutely loved this doctor when I was pregnant. I called his office yesterday and explained the situation. The receptionist was really nice and said she couldnt answer my questions but she scheduled me for a consultation today with the doctor to answer my questions and figure out the best way for us to deal with my anxiety issues. Im still nervous but relieved that I am now dealing with a doctor I know.View Thread
It looks like my kids and your furbabies are on the same schedule. I literally begged my four year old to stay up until 9 last night. No luck which meant our morning started at 6.
My back feels like I managed to tie myself up in knots last night (if that doesnt make sense, I apoligize, please reread paragraph one for an explanation Im spending some time in my massage chair with my electric blanket hoping to work out some of the kinks.
Its suppose to be a high of 55 here today. Im enjoying what is left of the nice weather.
Thats about it right now. Hope everybody has a pain free day.View Thread
Bette, I have worked in the bar business for thirteen years. I cant tell you how many times (it happens at least once a night) that a customer comes in and it perfectly well behaved until he has a few drinks, then turns into a disgusting pig.
Its perfectly understandable that you got upset over the matter; however, I would bet my favorite heating pad that he either does not remember or is embarrassed and would prefer to forget about it.View Thread
Again I would like to thank you ladies for the amazing support and advice. I have decided that I am going to call an OB/GYN office tomorrow that is affiliated with a major hospital in my area and see if they can offer some assistance (they come highly recommended by people who live in that area). Its an hour away but if I feel more comfortable, well worth the extra drive.
My fiance has been wonderful throughout all of this. He comes with me to my fibro doctors appointments and is very good about being an advocate on my behalf (and remembering all the questions I forget to ask). My kids have also been super sweet although they just think I have to see another doctor because of my fibro. My 8 year old made me breakfast in bed "because its cold and I know your hips hurt when its cold"
Im really hoping the doctor I speak to tomorrow can offer me some more information as well as hopefully schedule me before the end of the semester crunch.View Thread
