Must be the day to vent about men. I overdid it yesterday and paid the price today with a nasty migraine. My DH is a bit on the lazy side and we had a huge fight over his lack of motivation with helping out around the house. He then decided to go play pool while leaving me home with two small children. Im counting the minutes until bedtime.
Linda, I can also relate to people buying things we dont need. I am an extreme couponer so unless I can get a fantastic deal (as in free), there is no reason to buy it unless we need it.
Sorry to be such a negative nancy today. Im feeling a lot of stress and running out of time to get stuff done.View Thread
I currently own a TENS unit I bought online for about $25 (couldnt afford the more expensive units). It works okay but I do wish it was a little stronger. I recently discovered that in some instances insurance will pay for a unit if you have a prescription from a doctor. Has anybody ever done this? Are the units prescribed a better quality than the cheapy models available to purchase online. Will the prescription also cover the cost of replacement pads? Final question, how do you go about ordering a unit if insurance pays for it?
It is cold here this morning and I forgot to close the windows last night. Ooops. So far I have spent the last hour sitting in my massage chair with an electric blanket (i bought a $20 twin size electric blanket to keep in my living room, i am not exaggerating when I say its the best $20 ever spent).
I had the ultimate fibro fog moment yesterday. I ordered a bottle of bio-freeze that is the roll on kind. It didnt work too well which surprised me. Last night I tried again and was putting it on in the living room when my daughter (age looked at me and said "arent you supposed to shake it before you put it on." Yes, thats right, it never occured to me to shake the bottle.
My sons 4th birthday was yesterday. We had his party at McDonalds. He had a great time and even better, I didnt have to do any cooking or cleaning.
Thats about it. Hope everybody has a pain free day.View Thread
Its cold and rainy today. I'm trying to find the strength to do something more than lay in bed with my heating pad and electric blanket.
Things are going okay here. Work has been extremely slow so I have some financial stress ( iI work for tips and my fiancee owns the business so rough times affect both of us) . I am also in school and its the time of the semester where professors seem to pile on the work so iI am trying to figure that out too. On a happier note, for the first time in over two weeks, nobody in my family is sick.
Tthat's about all that's going on with me right now. Stay tuned for the exciting conclusion as to whether I stay in bed or clean the kitchen before iI have to go to work.
As usual, please excuse any typos or double words. I am writing this on my phone and my keyboard gets bipolar at times.View Thread
I am still trying to find ways to raise my energy levels but I do have some suggestions for pain. Have you tried heat, ice, or a TENS unit? I find those all work for me, they dont take the pain away but take the edge off. Personally, I dont like Bengay but prefer arnicare gel or bio freeze. Stretching is very important as is some kind of exercise every day (walking, yoga etc). I also have two young children. I can understand the frustration that comes with not being able to do the things you want to do. Have you tried any vitamins? I am not familiar with the different suppliments but I recently started Fibro Response. I havent noticed a huge difference yet (started on monday) but it contains several vitamins that are recommended for fibro.View Thread
I havent had my vitamin d levels checked lately but I got for the fun yearly checkup for women on Friday so Ill ask my doctor about it. I was told I had bursitis in my left hip last year. It just seems strange that it really only bothers me when the temperatures drop.View Thread
