I suffer EVERY morning with nasal congestion.. I don't take Ambien, but instead take a homeopathic sleep aid. I live in a not so great area, we have a lot of dust, and it's at a fairly high altitude. I feel better for some reason over on the coast, and have plans at some point to move there. You might see if perhaps you are in the same situation I am in as far as area.. BTW... I can't take ANY OTC cold and sinus meds as they cause my heart to race.View Thread

Well I am really starting to think that a lot of the problem IS the altitude.. When I go to Portland or Seattle, I feel better than I ever felt, sleep like a baby, and have energy. (Could be that I'm away from home) My sis and I went to Seattle in October and drove down the coast to Newport. I LOVED IT.. my sister was stuffed up and freezing all the time.. I felt like I was "home". I may go spend a week on the coast again "just for investigative purposes."View Thread

Thanks.. I woke up this AM feeling better than I had in a long time.. I slept last night with an oxygen meter. Gonna be interested in seeing how far my oxygen dropped during the night.
I credit a lot of my well feeling today with 3,000 mg fish oil, 81 mg baby aspirin, and my Altenolol.. I hate phlebotomy but if I have to I have to.. I credit a lot of my high red cells to the altitude...I'm hoping my doctor gives me a prescription for a move to the Oregon Coast. Every time I go up there, I feel so great and sleep even better. OH and BTW the best hematologist I know of is in Portland.
Thanks again,

Hi all.. been a few days since I was last on.. been under the weather a bit. I went on Wednesday for a checkup. Dr did a CBC and checked my Vitamin D. All is well EXCEPT for my red blood cell count. Way too high. I have been doing research on this, and started today on a 81mg aspirin and fish oil regimen. Here's the problem. I have had chronic pain since my MVA 4-1/2 years ago. My blood was great last year on my checkup, but now I find that Polycythemia (diagnosed) is a major cause of a lot of my symptoms. Has anyone else experienced this "problem"?View Thread

You are welcome.. I had about forgot it as well, as I can't afford to take it daily. I got stricken one day with the WORST and I mean crying pain. I asked for a stronger dose of my vicodin (yeah right like I knew that would work) and my secondary physician had some 303 in his office.. one day of taking them, I felt like a different person.. I actually felt happy.View Thread

You wanna hear the saddest part??? I only weighed 135 at the time of the wreck and that's when this all started. I'm heavier now, but when it hurts to just get up and do the dishes, where am I gonna be able to walk to??? I walk more than a 1/4 mile, and my lower back and hips start hurting.. I feel like I"m in a Catch-22 situation.

Something else I found, and you will have to look for it..Is called Formula 303. I had such horrible pain one day, and went to my backup doctor (a D.O) and he's really a stickler about prescribing drugs when you are being treated by another physician. But he asked if I would like to try an alternate...OK.. I took 2 caps in his office 2 mid afternoon 2 at dinner 2 at bedtime and slept like the proverbial rock. Woke up the next morning and felt like a different person. I ACTUALLY felt happy. I really didn't want to stay on them long term (a bit pricy) but you could, as there is no narcotics in them.. all natural herbs. You might be able to find them at an alternative medicine shop or perhaps at the chiropractors.View Thread

Dr. P.
Thank you so much for that assessment. I have an appointment with a new neurologist this month... I would with your permission like to cut and paste it and take it with me to the appointment.
I love my PCP, but she believes that you HAVE to have 11/18 trigger points, and I'm finding out that is old school thinking.
I am nearly 5 years post MVA (rear ended) I have not had ONE day where I'm not in pain in one form or another.
Thanks for your input.

You were right the first time.. Torture!
Long story short: I was rear ended nearly 5 years ago.. after all the hoopla of doctor, chiro, PT, I was referred to a spine specialist that ordered a nerve conduction study. When the results came back, he walked in accused me of being a drug seeker, and walked out. I was devastated! Fasf forward 1 year. I was referred to a physiatrist, that wanted another nerve conduction study done. So I went to the neurologist in her office, and the same test was done.. same results. Nothing "wrong" with me. It was at that point it hit me..I wass comparing the 2 NCD's & only the C5-8 is tested..WHY? I found out that a big part of my problem (but not all) was my C1(Atlas). I had that adjusted, but other problems remained. Can you tell me why the C1-4 isn't tested? and could that be the source of my pain in my neck. upper back, shoulder and humorous, not to mention the stabbing pain I get in my left ear?View Thread
