I KNOW how it feels to NOT have a doctor understand our Fibro problems.
I finally had to get angry and be kinda rude, but it takes that sometimes. I had, had it! I was so miserable: So my remedy that the doc has put me on: 6 years of misery first though!!!
Savella 200mg for about 8 months now, and it was awesome at first....but I was still having a lot of muscle pain.
4 weeks ago he put me on Lyrica 150mg.
These 2 meds have saved my life... even the depression is gone!!! I know these are band-aids, but they work for me.
I want to express something: these meds work on soft tissue only!!
I have to have regular pain meds for the hard ware in my body...my low back is damaged and my neck is bad and the head aches...
I do have to have muscle relaxers every once in a while.
I suffer insomnia as well, but Ambien saves me from that along with Trazadone.
HOLY cow.... alot of meds! BUT I am a live and happy again! 46 feeling at least 36!

Well, I just wanted to pass this on.... Good luck and God Bless!

The medical people are really starting to get advancements in Fibro.
I think the most important piece for us sufferers is find a doc that understands.... even on this webMD, they have a good outline of what it is.... MUSCLE PAIN ALLOVER!!
Mayo clinic has a great outline to take to your doc.
About.com has a forum that i follow there too.... Adrienne is awesome..
Well, god bless! And never give up!
I know that if I did not have medicine, I wouldn't be able to even walk!! So, I thank God the meds are there!!!
Peace be with you,

On that note!!! TAKE CHARGE OF YOUR FIBRO AND DON'T let the doctors bull-shi* you!!!
Go in armed with information... Mayo clinic put out an outline of Fibro to take to your doctor.... print it and take it

Also about.com under Fibro, Adrienne is awesome to read and so much information!! I learned so much from her forum...
God Bless!

It did not work for me.... sure it kind of calmed down, but not enough to sleep.
But mind you, I have extreme insomnia!! Ambien puts me sleep and Trazadone keeps me asleep...
Good luck!View Thread

I never told any of my family or my in-law family for a long time. My husband was not understanding my sickness, my kids did not... I was always super women! Now I am not!!!

Also though, I beat myself up for "being sick" I have never had to slow down.... and for me to accept this fibro, was very hard on me... I was too proud!
Please don't be afraid to tell people, like I was... I have learned it's better to say " I am sorry but I can't go today, I am having a bad day today....
Be honest with yourself and your loved ones Crystal....
We are here for you in this forum... but more than that, God is here for you... I finally learned to accept all of this sickness through God...
Peace, Love and Harmony to you,
