I was diagnosed 20 years ago and back then there was little known about fibro. I took my husband back then to fibromylgia support group meetings. This really opened his eyes and gave him a better understanding of the disease. Some of the stories were so much worse than my own. So if he would agree maybe he will go to a meeting. Good luck and keep us informed. FranView Thread

Sorry you feel so down about the visit to the Rhematologist but don't dispair. We all here have beeen through this with a variety of doctors. Maybe if possible please see a pharmacologist-psychartrist who can help you with meds to help you sleep and with pain. I just went throug 8 weeks of insomenia and severe pain and that is the route I took. Also pain management will help with pain . They see fibro patients all the time. I went to a rhematologist and he also pass the buck to another MD. So don't give up hope. As Linda said we see many MD's to treat many problems, Good luck and keep us informed. FranView Thread

I read your post and I want you to know if your grandaughter is in a good public school system there are specialists who will help your daughter catch up with her school work. The school psycologists and teachers will evaluate her and see where help is needed. most school systems are used to these types of problems children transfer all the time. I can tell you how many health records I have done over the years. Please enjoy her every minute she spends time with you . They grow so fast.Hugs FranView Thread

As Bette said in her previous post you have come from to the right on line support group. Ever4yone here is caring and have logged many years with fibro including myself of 20 years.I am so sorry that you lost your friend that itself would caused you anguish.I just got over a 8 week bout with a major flare,And everyone here was so supportive.I also had severe back pain and with the proper meds and getting enough sleep and rest it finally diminished. Heat from heating ads and the bed buddy in the microwave helps. Take warm baths with soft music. Warm showers also are good. Hopefully you have a understanding MD.This syndrone is not easy but it is not fatal. If you can find the necessary relief it can be manageable. Let us know how you are. FranView Thread
