I have found Melatonin to be effective. I take Ambien and can substitute out the Ambien, any night for the Melatonin. The side effect I experience is tiredness the following day...I need a nap. Also, Ambien needs 30 mins to kick in, in a quiet, undistracted, environment. Melatonin can set in while reading or watching TV. (Unlike Ambien)
Some say Ambien gives a hangover the next day--not the case for me, nor funky walking or driving experiences. Melatonin, drives be to rest the next day, which may be a sign of taking too much.View Thread
