I made sausage a few weeks back and had a reaction to mixing the cold meat by hand. It was ok at first then became hellish as we were doing it in mass quantities due to a sale. After a bit of online research, I suspect it may have been mild Raynaud's phenomenon as the allergist I saw mentioned it. I like the idea of bringing the meat to room temp... will try that with smaller batches of things.
I've been doing some research because a house mate mentioned/asked if I thought the additional pain could be weather related. I've noticed in the past several days its been colder and I've been much, much achier. Started doing some research.
Cold intolerance: About 30% of fibromyalgia patients complain of cold intolerance. In most cases this amounts to needing warmer clothing or turning up the heat in their homes.
I never associated being cold with Fibro but for a while, I've been dressing up to go to bed and spending more time under the covers, whenever I can. I've been wearing layers of clothes to bed ie. short sleeve t-shirt with a long sleeve over. Sweats with makeshift long johns under. Double layers of socks are no longer enough and I have switched to wearing three. Covered with a down duvet with a down blanket over. Had no idea this could have been part of it. My hands hurt to type too long. My shoulder aches badly to lay down on my side and can't sleep on my front of back due to back issues.
How do you stay warm and relatively comfortable!?!?! I'm starting to get a bit desperate.View Thread
