Nancy..so sorry..sure hope you can get some rest today. I sure think of you as I am trying to hold my granddaughter, and my arms are screaming at me...and my heart is telling my arms to shut up because we are going to do this !
I spent so much time yesterday on the phone with hospice. They did send someone out to check on dad, and she did start him on an antibiotic. Let's hope it helps.
I got word yesterday, that I did not get the job I applied for. Let's hope something else is in the works.
I realized yesterday, that I also have to deal with a tax issue with my dad. Seems like there is so much I am forgetting to do these days. Trying to put out a row of "things to do" so that I have things more organized, but hard to do right now.
Thanks Linda ! They will move whether his business takes off or not..so better that the word gets out about his tool making ! I guess the tool he uses is like one used by the forest service..hope he could sell to some fire departments !
Oh dear what a week already around here. Weatherwise, not too bad. Warm, but nothing like I know it is back east..and middle of the country.
Well, I moved dad into the facility on Thursday. On Friday, I had our caregiver there to assist with the changes. On Sat. I went over in the afternoon, and things were OK. On Sat. night, I got a call that dad had a fall, but seemed ok. They called hospice to check on him. On Sunday, I got another call, that dad had fallen again. ("We found him lying at the foot of his chair"). I went over Sunday afternoon, to find him somewhat confused and in his bed. I was waiting for his 4 pm meds...I finally got after someone to get them at 4:30...and while he was there, we checked dad's urine bag for his catheter and found it was COMPLETELY full. This can cause a major infection. Today, I talked to several people at hospice, and got a nurse out there. She said he seemed to have a temperature, so although the test for a UTI takes three days, they are starting him on an antibiotic. What a mess. And naturally, my sisters that are not here and have done nothing for the move have quite a bit to say about it.
I did go over to mom and dad's house with my daughter. We were going through a few things. There isn't much either of us really wants. But it was a nice time to spend with her and my granddaughter. My DH had been over there working on the sprinklers. We all left and went and had a iced coffee at Starbucks.
DD and her bf are trying to start a company and move to Oregon. It is a lot to take on. Well, if you are on fb, you can "like" his new business ATK. (I guess that will help them get known. He is trying to make tools, especially ones that have to do with mountain biking. And if you know anyone that needs a tool made, that would be great too !
Well, I was exhausted last night. I have been trying to not take any cyclobenazaprine..but I took it last night..just wanted to make sure I got some sleep..and did I sleep. First night back in our own bed this week...and it felt so good..and I slept until 8 am without almost any tossing and turning..hopefully I can get back on track.
I am paying my caregiver to be with mom and dad today and make the transition good..I was a little worried because dad needs help with anything..can't move without help..so, someone needs to be with him, and it didn't seem like that was happening yesterday. I am not going over there today. There are still things that need doing..but Ron and I will go over Sat. and check on them..and see how they are doing and fix a few things..
A very long day today. We got mom and dad moved to the memory care place. Dad seems very comfortable and seems to be adjusting well. Mom is sad, mad and not a happy camper and is going to make sure everyone knows about it. I am just tired...hope it all goes well...
Morning...I am exhausted...trying to get things done. Went to mom and dad's Sat. Dad tried his best to stay up for the fireworks that are fairly close to their home. About 15 min before the fireworks started, dad crashed. I could not believe he slept through all the bangs and crashing !
I have a job interview tomorrow, ..hope I do not come across as exhausted !
I am off shortly to my medifast check-in...yea, Nancy B. time to start the humus and celery for your snack?? and eating every two to three hours? You know the system..! Plan ahead. I do think since your family owns a deli with such good food, that somehow, all that would make it hard to eat little. I know you are not over there all the time, but just the thought of it all makes me drool !
We will be over for hopefully our last weekend with mom and dad..but this week will be long. I told the night time caregiver that we were moving on Monday, and we were going to move them. The place is being remodeled and the elevators will be out until Thursday, so looks like the move will be Thursday. That means that DH and I will be doing the night shift this week.
We might be able to see a few fireworks from mom and dad's tonight..but not sure. I think mom and dad will be asleep and it will be hard to do anything. I am counting the days until this is over.
I went over to the house on Thursday. My day time caregiver had taken off Thursday and Friday and the night time caregiver was there. Things were a mess. Mom and dad had not been taken care of. I would have fired her on the spot, but I needed someone there. I had to get paperwork to the new facility. I bit my lip, cleaned them up and left. I will be so glad to move on.
Nancy...wanted to mention to you about the weight. I have heard so many from mediast go through this....lose the weight only to regain. I have been back at it now for at least six months..slowly taking off what I had gained. (I now have lost 88 pounds from my original high weight..instead of the 100 I had lost. ) Hopefully this week will put me back where I have all my things in the "normal" range.
Anyway... Kelle from (I think) it is Colorado is selling something called Plexus. She swears by it and says it helped her lose weight and feel better. I cannot seem to figure out what is in it.
My daughter is now selling something from a company called IT WORKS. Her friends say it helps lose weight. She is giving it a try after "baby " weight is a problem Not sure what is in that..but some have been telling her they use it and it works.
Hope you can find something that works for you.. ceceView Thread
