I always seem to find myself in this forum on days when my FM is at it's worse! I guess what I am saying is that I seem to find understanding and some comfort coming here and reading others posts. You all help me stay positive in a world full of negative. I want to say a big THANK YOU to the ones that posted links for treatments, oils to try, and all the other little things for relief of some of this constant pain. I have found myself crying when I read about others that have been in OR are going thru some challenges that I have fought in the past. You all warm my heart with posts of success in trying certain treatments and/or diet changes. Everyone here on the FM community, YOU keep up the great work because you may not realize just how many people are reading the posts and just how many people you may have helped in some small way! You have helped ME many times! SALUTE! God Bless you all!View Thread

Thanks for the warm greeting and yes, I will try to post more often. I have actually been a member of the forums for months now. I just don't have time sometimes to get online and read like I want. My computer is like my set of encyclopedias because I find so much info BUT you have to weed out bad from good sometimes. I know that I can trust what I find on WedMD. I DO have my vitamin D checked every 3 months by my Rheumy doctor. Mine has been low a couple times so I know how important it is to be checked. When I hurt real bad I take really warm shower or bath then crawl in under my covers with a heating blanket on. I also take a sublingual vitamin B complex once a day and it helps with my FM and mood. Thanks again for the greeting and I will sure try to post more often! 'Gentle Hugs' to everyone! Take Care everyone!View Thread

I also forgot to mention that my Rheumy has prescribed Voltran gel, you can use it up to 4x's a day. Rub it into your back area where you hurt or any other joints that have pain, it works great for me. There is also another liquid pain med called Pennsaid that you rub on aching joints and it is good but not as good for me as the Voltran gel. Hope this helps.

Have you had your vitamin D level checked? I was told I have severe FM by my Rheumy, I am on Cybalta 2x's daily, flexeril for muscle spasms in my back/legs, I take tramadol for pain after weaning myself off hydrocodone. I have just started taking a vitamin B complex and it seems to be helping a lot with the FM pain, moodiness, alertness and overall well being. I have a low vitamin D count and have had to take 50,000IU of vitamin D. I am all for trying to find natural ways to combat this illness instead of letting my insides rot away with the narco meds. I have never taken Xanax but have friends that say they don't like it. I hope you find relief soon, hang in there! "Gentle Hugs" to you!View Thread

I was prescribed trazadone for sleep also. I tried it for about 3 weeks but did not like the side effects. I woke up most mornings with a headache and felt that I wasn't "with it". I am on disability so I don't have to worry about functioning at a job thank goodness. I try to limit my sodas and other things that can keep you awake at night. I also find that taking a hot/warm shower before bed helps me sleep. I have FM. RA, OA, ruptured discs in lower back, chronic pain, depression and on and on. I also started making sure I eat breakfast every morning which usually consists of oatmeal, juice and 1 cup of coffee. I hope you can find peace and something good that can help you sleep because without proper rest and a good quality of sleep with FM it is hard to function. My best to you!View Thread
