It's cold and still raining here. I was born during a Nor'easter, and I've wondered if that's why I feel icky when another comes around. It's too cold and damp fofr me right now.
DH and I unpacked a lot of boxes today, about half of what was taken away,. It doesn't count what my sister and I packed. and 'stored' on the porch. We went through 4 boxes of coffee mugs, and played "Keep it or Trash it." What's in the 'trash it' box will be sold, and the proceeds will go to his Pan-Mass Challenge account. A lot has been accomplished!
Mimi, I woke too soon this morning too. I hate feeling 'off' during the day, and I'm surprised DH and I got so much done.
Semily, I saw a mouse in the house a few months ago. DH was sound asleep, and he's lucky I didn't scream out loud, but it was 1am, and I didn't want toy freak out the neighbors or their three little boys.
Mel, shame on the teacher. I fractured a bone in my foot many years ago, and I spent three months - almost the entire winter - on crutches. I hope walking on it didn't damage anything else in there, where there's so many tiny bones.
Linda, enjoy the nice weather. We're on our third day of rain, and I'm just about done!View Thread
Hi Everyone: Cold, windy and raining here. The place I'm working still has their AC on, and I'm sitting under a vent. Everyone around me was wearing a coat, and my cardi wasn't cutting it.
Mimi, my parents went to one of those seminars, got some great advice, and that's the reason Dad could leave us an inheritance. Everything was put in a trust. If you feel good with the people, go for it!
Lisa, I've been home for an hour and I'm still cold. I feel your chill!
Linda I'm happy your DH is coming home. Make sure he behaves himself and heals well and quickly.
Mel, I'll keep trying to post that pic. I'm thinking of creating a FB page, using initials for the ins co, and names for all the great people who participated in the success my kitchen is! Speaking of pictures, let's try again:
Cory, I hope you're well today.
I wish you all the best night you can possibly have! LouView Thread
It's cold here in New England, low 60s and rain today. They say we'll have torrential rain over the next few days. We're a hardy lot, bring it on!
I'm still working, and that's a good thing. It's good to get out and see people regularly. Now I can continue my yarn-collecting habit. LOL I finally opened my Etsy store, if you're on there, I'm Katmandu Studio Signature Hand-Knits.
DH and I are taking a day off to unpack boxes for the kitchen. I know that we'll be calling and taxing each other, "Honey, where did we put the..." LOL Here's a pic:
The pie safe on the right will be used for storage. Everything important will have a place; other stuff will be given away or sold.
I'm watching a news story about a man who had experimental surgery to "cure" his paralysis. He's actually walking again.More research is needed, I'm sure.
DH just pulled into the drive, and I have to get ready for yoga class. I wish each of you the best days you can possibly have! LouView Thread
I hope you all had a great Saturday, and have a Happy Sunday, by the time I finish this.
Cooler here than in Kansas, I'll take some of that warmth, melpom. We have a frost warning overnight, a little too early for my liking.
The kitchen is done, and I couldn't be more excited. Now we have 30 boxes of stuff, a few boxes of food, and a collection of misc stuff to find "away" for. That'll take awhile, and I don't want to rush it, hopefully eliminating that calls that begin with "Honey, where did we pout the..." NOW what will I gripe about?????
Mimi, I hate those political ads too, and the calls that waste my time. I'm suspicious of any call that does;'t have a caller ID description. A couple weeks ago, the caller was ME! They call it spoofing when the info on the CID is wrong. Grrrr!
Nancy, I'm glad your DH is well, but they never do what they should, trying to prove they're brave or strong. Keep reminding him to take it easy.
Cory, it's good to take it easy now and again. I saw my rheumy yesterday and he told me to exercise more. I said I would if I felt up to it. Vicious circle, isn't it?
Wishing you all the best day you can possibly have, LouView Thread
It's warm/cool here in southeastern Mass, 71 now with 80% humidity. The leaves are changing color and falling, so everything is a little slippery. Lots of weed pollen and mold flying through the air.
We're ready to move back into the kitchen, but still awaiting the arrival of the two cabinets. I called to get all our dishes, pans, glasses etc back, and they're coming Fri. It'll be around 30 boxes, plus a table and pie safe. DH can work from home, in case I have work. My client has been giving me 2-4 days a week, and I'm happy I live close to them.
Some poor guy just came to vacuum out the porta-potty the construction people have been using. When we had the siding done 5 years ago, I don't know where they "went", bunt they didn't use the house's toilets. Ewwww...
Mimi, I'm glad you got a full night of rest. I;ve been taking melatonin when I need it; my rheumy said it's ok, so I'm doing it when I don't have to be anywhere early. I usually oversleep, but it's a good sleep! And I don't get the Ebola thing either. Too scary!
Lisa, I love grumpycat on FB. What a great description of Tuesday! If your weather is nice, get out for a short walk or spend a little time sitting outside. Sunshine helps me.
Linda, I'll be finding "away" for everything this weekend. We'll spend the next year asking questions starting with, "Honey, where did we put the"026"!
Gotta go have my blood pressure checked. I wish you all the best Hump Day you can possibly have, LouView Thread
