MiMi,
I do use a heating pad at times. It does seem to help. I find that if I get up and away from my computer periodically it also helps. I did try adjusting the monitor but have not been very successful with this. Hope all is well with you:0) CatView Thread

Sabrina,
I am taking this med and have taken buspar also a long time ago. Both are great meds and for me who has side effects from everything had no problem with either one of these meds. I take 1/2 the normal dose of the tizanidine and have no hang over or drowsiness or anything with it. Cat:0)View Thread

Hey FMily,
I have been doing myofascial release with a chiropractor for a couple of months now and I think it just may be doing some good. Now if only I could figure out what to do about this neck pain????!!!!! I know the cause just really can't do a whole lot about that part. I have managed to reduce it though by getting up and doing other tasks instead of just constantly sitting in front of my computer. Hope all is well with everyone else. Cat:0)View Thread

Hey FMily,
I cannot believe how rapidly time is passing and how busy I am all the time. I really need a break so wish I could take one. Unfortunately not able to . Nutcracker madness has begun again not to mention school for the 8 yr old and all the activities that go along with that. I like making money and being involved but maybe a I just need a part time job. This may be in the near future. Hope everyone is well. I don't have a chance to get on here much anymore. Miss y'all. I have had an MRI which showed narrowing between c4 and c5 and 2 bulging discs also. My chiropractor told me there is strain on the neck muscles from looking down while working all day. Not too much that can be done about this because it is a necessary evil. Sorry you are so young and with so many problems. My ill health did start in my thirties but now at almost 50 it has really gone south. I just keep on trucking and hope I can for a long time to come in spite of pain. Good luck and God bless you. I have had a nerve conduction study for carpal tunnel syndrome. It is painful but not anything you can't handle. Heck we deal with childbirth, and this fibro ongoing pain for years and years. There is an end to the pain from the emg. Then at least you will have the results you need to diagnose. Cat:0)View Thread

Mary,
I am afraid also of alot of the supplements. I have been taking Osteo Biflex for some years now and for me it helps alot with the stiffness not so much the pain. I think we all have to use common sense and listen to our bodies. If it sounds too good to be true it probably is. Cat:0)View Thread

I think we all feel this way at times. It is not a fun thing to deal with. You are suffering with symptoms and then have to deal with doubting doctors, coworkers, family, friends. It makes you feel like you are crazy, alone, hypochondriac, what is wrong with me? etc.. I believe you know your body better than anyone else and you just have to be in tune with it and do some self treatment also. There are many great suggestions here on this site and much encouragement and support. Thank God for the people here. I myself would have given up a long time ago if not for the support of this FMily.
It is true though you may have other conditions as well as the fibro. I myself have fibro, hypothyroid, arthritis to name a few. You have to find a balance that helps you and know and accept that there will be days when you will not accept your diagnosis. Hang in there and God bless you and all of us:0) Cat :0)View Thread

Mimi,
Yeah I think my desk positioning, computer, etc is making the back worse than ever. Not really sure what I can do about it though. The chiropractor told me the pain in my neck could be from looking down a lot. I really cannot do much about this cause I have to look down to do my job and also many other tasks. I guess years and years of doing so has taken its toll. The chiropractor more or less told me my body was a mess and would take a while to get straightened back out. I just hope my money, patience and body can hold out long enough to get to the end result of feeling better. Not really sure if I can afford it for the long haul. Just really wanting to feel better and not real sure why all of a sudden my back has taken a turn for the worse.
I so agree with you though. If it isn't one thing it is another and I am physically, emotionally, and mentally spent. I love working but it is taking its toll on me also. I feel like I cannot win either way. I am quite unhappy when I am not working. But the pain is worse when I do work and it really has a bad effect also. It isn't fair we have to make such hard choices but noone ever said life was fair. For now I have chosen to deal with being in more pain and keep working. Hopefully I can find a balance someday soon though. I may decide in the end to work part time instead of so many hours and this could be a good solution for me.
My back issues seem to be in cervical and lumbar spine and they take turns being the worst pain lol. Right now the cervical spine is the worst. I think the chiropractor may have done something that helped the lumbar spine cause it was definitely the worst before. Pray that my money lasts long enough for me to get some positive results. With Christmas coming I am afraid it will be slim pickings at this rate. I am working to see the chiropractor lol. Take care and thanks Hope your back gets to feeling better. Cat:0)View Thread
