Wow - you're an inspiration! The "you can do it!" motivation is so important for those striving to be healthy.
I love that you wrote "never give up." My daughters and I were watching a reality show rerun this summer where contestants compete in physical challenges. One tiny woman kept yelling "Never give up, never surrender!" She aced many of the events that others much stronger than her couldn't complete. We now use her phrase as a motivational battle cry in our house.
I just wanted to give you a supportive (((hug))). I'm a working mom with two kids and I get it! I always put myself at the bottom of the list - right behind the laundry, the homework, the work obligations, and on and on.
One thing that motivates me is remembering that I'm setting an example for my little ones. I want my girls to grow up active and healthy! So far so good but it's been really challenging for me since school started. Uggg...the homework
Hang in there and please come back for more support!
p.s. How old are your kiddos? Let me know and I can link you to some supportive Parenting Communities. Finding time and energy to take care of ourselves is a "hot topic" discussed frequently by busy (and exhausted) moms.View Thread
I have two big motivators that keep me walking and on the yoga mat. 1) I want to set a good example for my two daughters so that they will embrace an active life and avoid future health issues. 2) I'm determined to age "gracefully". Many of my friend's parents are unable to stay in their own homes simply because of lack of exercise. They've lost mobility, flexibility and balance and have to move to an assisted living facility. Each time I want to skip a yoga class, I think about that!
I'm here M - F and am happy to check in with you daily

Remember the opening of Wide World? I think it was a snow skier completely wiping out!
We are giving China a run for the money when it comes to medals this year. China is 1/4 of the planet's population - a huge pool of people. And they have state sponsored Olympic villages that whisk away kids and train them from a very early age.
But a little PR between the Olympic games couldn't hurt, that is for sure! And would attract more $$$.
