Tomato, you're amazing! That's a great workout routine.
I hope your mouth is pain free.
Tonight, my 7 year old has swim team practice for an hour and a half. I swim with my 4 year old during that time. It's not continuous, vigorous exercise but it's great after a day spent hunched over this keyboard!
I'm taking it easy on my knee so I'm going to take a gentle stretch yoga class on Saturday morning, a walk around the neighborhood with the kids after dinner is our evening routine.
Sunday we'll be at Zuma beach! Just getting all the stuff from the car, across the sand has my heart pounding! I'll see how the knee is doing, maybe a long walk.
On Monday, my family got a VIP invite to see the TV show Cupcake Wars being filmed. I'm going to guess that I'll get lots of arm lifting in as I taste
Family yoga Monday evening - again, we'll see how my knee does!
We got a big blow-up bouncy waterslide for my 4 year old's birthday this weekend. Trying to be the cool mom, I went down and twisted my knee. The pain is mild but there is a twinge - I've been wearing a knee brace and hoping the pain will go away but it's not.
I saw a PT for my shoulder a few years ago. Should I call him or do I need to go to another type of doctor first?
In your experience, are knees easily "rehab-able"? Till I get into see the doc, should I just rest it or are there exercises I could do to start the healing process?
I'm so mad at myself. I really hope I didn't cause a problem that will plague me for years. As a working mom with 2 kids, my weekly yoga classes and daily walks are the key to my sanity.
Thanks Rich! Great information - I shared this discussion with one of the parenting communities filled with exercising moms - hopefully some of them will chime in too!
The flaghouse catalogue is GREAT - thanks for the heads up! I'm going to look for some fun stuff for my daughters 4th birthday party. She loves the show "Wipeout " and asked for an obstacle course in the back yard.
I was with a bunch of moms last night and we were discussing how to raise a child that enjoys being active. Half of the moms exercise and enjoy it, half of the moms hate working out and wish they enjoyed it more. Of course, I want my 2 girls to love it!
I wondered if your parents did anything that influenced you to pursue a career in fitness and keep super active? Did you play team sports? Did you work out as a family?
I'll pass on your wisdom to the WebMD Parenting Communities too!
