Lose the sugar---its everywhere in the American diet, the processed foods, carbs, and the flour based foods. I no longer eat pasta or rice or potatoes [except baked sweet potatoes with a little bit of butter>. Instead we eat quinoa. I limit alcohol to one glass per day. My blood numbers and are well within the acceptable range. I went on a juice only and liquid potassium diet for three weeks this summer and subsequently began eating smaller portions. I go to water aerobics for 2-3 hours per week and work out on an elliptical 2-3 times a week. I do core strengthening and stretching exercises daily for ten minutes and balance training for 2 hours per week. In July 2012 I weighed 176 and looked like a toad. Now in November 2012 I still have toad-like qualities but weigh 155. Goal is to lose the toad gut and weigh in at 150, about right I am told for my frame--5ft 6 in. The longer you wait to get the habits under control, the more difficult it becomes. I only wish libido would return. Any ideas on this?--efgumjrView Thread
I definitely agree with you on the exercise part of your recommendation. I am missing the diet part. See my post of a few minutes ago about sugar, carbs, processed foods, juicing etc. Exercise is absolutely necessary but by itself is not sufficient if you need to atone for years of body abuse!View Thread
I have not read that book but I imagine it assumes a certain level and set of habits going in. I needed a total immersion food and ex cerise boot camp to get me on the right track. If you need to play catch-up, I am not sure 30 minutes a week is enough.View Thread
