For last 2 years have had problems with acid after eating any food. I have no other medical issues, am not overweight, and not overstressed. Went to doctor 2 years ago, but he ordered blood tests and it ended up costing me $500, and they found nothing wrong. I can't afford another visit like that. He prescribed prilosec, which helped for a little while. Recently finished another 2 week dose- It worked great while I was on it, but acid returned almost immediately after I finished. Often take small dose of baking soda after meals, 1 to 3 times/ day, and sometimes at night. Prilosec instructions say to repeat use only every 90 days. I'm concerned of long term effects of baking soda/drugs/antacids. I don't know what to do; funds are low and doctors charge more for a 5 minute visit than I make in 1 or 2 days. As I said, I have acid no matter what kind of food I eat, even if it's a small snack like a granola bar. Are there foods or ways to strengthen the muscles that might prevent this?View Thread
