Cookie Boo (alias Boo Boo, Buddy, or Grumbly Bump) is a terrier/poodle preemie. He is barely 10 pounds on a good day. A rescue dog who I do not consider is truly mine but the daughter of the woman who gave him to me. This "daughter" is barely 18 and living in a foster home because the mother was incapable of handling the daughter. Feeling was mutual between them I'm sure. Boo was severely abused by this woman's ex whom she dumped Boo on because she was taking up residence with a new man. Won't go farther. Boo is a Godsend to me and has been helping me heal as I have been helping him as well. He was a mean and nasty little boy when he came to me - now he is a happy go lucky "tramp" who loves everybody unless you are less then amicable. Then watch your feet. LOL
P.S. I am up and running on my new knee. I even walked 3.5 miles yesterday.View Thread
take from each day, all that is comes your way - then return, only the very best that you are
3 moves in 12 months, really! actually i am back from knee surgery and on the up side of life for a change. i came upon the board tonight and saw Cookie's pix and had to bust a guskett for I have a little guy just like Cookie's. He has a name of Boo but has a nickname from his time before i rescued him which is Grumbly Bump. Quite a fella too. with little effort, he could be a great service companion dog. enough for now
Health insurance is the name of the game and medical science took a back seat to the drug companies ages ago. Mental Health issues though complex and deeply rooted are not as complex as considered; sometimes involving many levels, the complexity if studied concisely and consistently are quite affable. Since grants are not as readily and openly given to studies in the field of mental health, much headway is still down the road. Because of ancient stigmas, mental health is for mainstream outsiders who control the ship, an issue that is very scary.View Thread
hi gang. is there where i can grump it up a little? recently i was in the psych unit at my local hospital for a six day stay-over. the psych-doc their took me off my bipolar meds and and upped my anti-depressant. i have been without them since June and i have been off my anti-depressants for 2 weeks now. currently i am living away from home and am working on a complete renewal. so far so good but i do not have a psych-doc on the outside and my counselor wants be to get a more insurance before i can see him again. i am on medicare and they cover only about 50% in these parts. so life has been a bit of a gambit for me lately. but i am for some reason getting healthier. go figure. just wondering how you all are doing and glad to be back. at this point i think i can be around more often than not. couple of days a week i seem to have some free time on my hands so here i am. i am going to post this on the regular board as well.
