I was diagnosed with PCOS at 19 years old. I rarely, if ever had my period, unless I took birth control to maintain it. In May, I had my gallbladder removed due to gallstones. Now I'm noticing a very significant hair loss that start in June. I know that your body goes into shock after surgery, but would it honestly last this long? I went to one hair specialist who wanted to do laser treatment on my hair because DHT was attacking my hair follicle, the only problem was...treatments were 2800 dollars. So I went to the dermatologist and they tested my hormones levels, which they said were normal. They said there was nothing they could do for me, other then suggesting that I use Rogaine. (Not Progaine, Rogaine.) My arguement is...I'm on birth control, would that elevate my hormones? What if those normal levels are not normal for me? I'm just really at a loss here and I don't know what to do. I'm starting to notice bald spots. I hope someone's out there that can help.View Thread
