I had a partial hysterectomy in May 2011 (uterus removed). They choose to leave my cervix and ovaries as I am 46. Today I received a call that my pap smear from last week they discovered endometrial cells in my cervix. It was explained to me that the type of cells they found are usually found in the uterus and since I don't have one, they are concerned. We have scheduled a colposcopy. At my appointment last week, I was also told that my cervix is falling. I don't know if the smart thing to do is to go through the colposcopy when the doctor made it sound like my cervix would need to be removed at some point because it's falling. If anyone has knowledge or experience with any of this, I would love to hear from you.View Thread
I'm sitting here stunned after reading your reply. I guess it all makes sense and I will certainly read the web attachment but I'm stunned and feeling somewhat sick about the whole thing. Is the top of your vagina sewn shut or is it just a tunnel into the abdomenal cavity? How does all of this impact everything else in the abdonminal cavity? I have a feeling I'm about to learn more than I could have ever imagined about the whole thing. I have so many dots to connect to have it all make sense to me. Certainly gravity and the strained bowel movements I'm having must be playing a part in all of it.View Thread
