Personal experience, Yes foods you eat will make a difference in your vaginal odor. Yogurt and pineapples will help it. Yogurt has Acidophilus in it which produces more lactabacilli, which is the GOOD bacteria that lives in the vagina. Acidy foods like tomatoes, spicy food, seafood, garlic and broccoli will definitely give you and odor. In fact, will give you an bacterial infection which will make you discharge. DO NOT USE baby powder or any kind of perfume down there!! It will make the odor worse!! DO NOT USE panty liners daily, this holds in the moisture and will cause a bacterial infection. NEVER douche!! Douching flushes out the natural vaginal bacteria used to cleanse the vagina. I had a odor so bad I was embarressed to use public bathrooms, and I discharged so much I had to wear panty liners everyday all day. I swore up and down that my husband gave me an std but when I went to get my annual it turned out just being a bacterial infection from the food I ate. Having my rectum hurts when I'm on my period (and only when I'm on my period) annoys me...it's been going on since I'm 16 years old and now I'm 25. Recently, I started having symptons that is similar to vaginal prolapse and the Kegel exercises is what I came across. One time while I was doing the Kegel exercises, I was on my period. The pain (of pressure) started kicking in at my rectum. That makes me want to just hold my butt in, but I continued doing the Kegel exercises. As I continued, despite the pain, I noticed that the pain became less and less, until it doesn't bother me at all (but it doesn't go away completely, it will come again, but for the time being, it was completely gone). I didn't think that there would be anything to help relieve the pain, but Kegel exercises did the trick. It's not a permanent fix, but I hope that this will help many of you as it did me.
Another time when I had to poop, and while the stool was coming out, the pain began again, a twisting pain at my rectum. The first thing I thought of was, 'let me do the Kegel exercises', and I did. After a minute or so, the pain was gone, not completely, but enough for me not to feel pressure and discomfort when I'm passing the stool.
Here are the directions (what I did, are hold for 10 seconds, release for 10 seconds, and I do it up to 10 minutes max...you might not have to do it that long for it to take effect)
****& PLEASE DON'T DO THE EXERCISE WHILE YOU URINATE, ONLY WHEN YOU HAVE TO PASS GAS, OR STOOL
How to do Kegel exercises
Find the muscles you use to stop urinating.
Squeeze these muscles for 3 seconds. Then relax for 3 seconds. ...
Add 1 second each week until you are able to squeeze for 10 seconds each time.
Repeat this exercise 10 to 15 times per session. ...
Don't do Kegels while you urinate.
