There are a number of doctors questioning treatment like this.
With any human activity there is a risk/reward. Even something as simple as eating dinner has the risk of choking on the food. But, in that case, the chance of a risk is very low and the reward, nourishment, is high.
But in other cases it is not as clear.
Too often the doctors are only treating the disease and not the patient.
And as you point out sometimes the treatment causes more problems. And looking at the meds it appears that some of them are to counter the side effects of other medicines.
You have to have a frank talk with your mother about what she wants.
And them talk to the doctor about this and what benefits are from each med. And see if number/dosage can be adjusted to give, what your mother sees, as more reward and less risk.View Thread
