I eat good on top of my exercise...now should my LDL be lower or does my high HDL negate that ?
Also, how do I know if I have unstable plaque and if I do how is that treated ? I feel fine, resting heart rate is in the 40's and bp is 117/71
If I keep my labs like this and continue with exercise can I expect a long life ?View Thread

53 yr old male, lad stent 2 yrs ago with 98% blockage, was having funny chest pressure when riding bike, went to the Dr he did an echo stress test sent right to hospital for angio...blood work at the time was HDL=50,LDL=140,Tryg.=100
After stent started running/biking everyday eating better too lots of veggies and salads, fish....blood work this past week was HDL=120, LDL=74, Tryg.= 40
Dropped 53 pounds...am 5'9" tall and weigh 140...feel great..run 5 miles 3 o 4 times a week and bike the other days 25-40 miles at a fast cardio pace...
I had a nuclear stress test a year ago because I was having some right side chest like muscle pain..cardio dr said "perfect" not even a glitch...
Now the last few days I have been getting a few pvc's when running..maybe like 5 or 6 during the 5 miles no big deal...also have a couple when sitting and watching tv...also a couple when having sex...
Now I just went last week for my 6 month check...he did an echo and ekg etc said " blood work and echo are perfect" see him in anther 6 months.
I have no pain or discomfort in my chest when running or biking..i did have some issues a few years ago with pvc's but I quit ANY caffine and they pretty much went away...
? is...could the pvc's be a sign something is plugging up even though I have no chest pain ??
I really dont want another nuclear stress test because I dont like to have the exposer to the xray or the isotope...not sure why he did the echo last week because my echo was normal the day before I had the stent it wasnt until the echo stress he noticed the issueView Thread

hdl-102
ldl-75
Trygli -50
Glucose- 89
yesterdays
hdl-117
ldl-74
Trygli-60
Glucose-102
My ? is the glucose, last 2 - 3 times it has been 89, now the only thing I see different is my tryglycerides are higher, would that cause my glucose to go higher ?
I ate some pretzles the night before my test too.
Also another thing I did different was I ran before the test, not a huge run but maybe a mile to the lab, then had the test right away ...
Im flipping over the glucose, the Dr doesnt see a problem and the la=b has the upper limit as 110 but still...whacha thinkView Thread

BP is 110/60 resting hr is about 54
He said still take an aspirin everyday. I will be honest im a little scared that my stent will plg or something. I drink a glass or red wine everynight and eat alot of salmon, chicken salads, sushi...
No sugar to speak of, nuts for snacks...
The aspirin is 325mg coated...Is there any NEW or recent studies or what are you cardio drs seeing ??
Also he didnt say i had to taper off it either. I do bruise and bleed like crazy on it so....View Thread

Its very hard to have sympathy for someone that doesnt care that much about his own health or providing for his family that he just keeps doing something that to be honest is going to kill him !
Again I do feeel sorry for you but not him. He's a big boy and if he is trying to kill himself he is doing a great job. Again sorry to be blunt but im being honest !View Thread
