You must quit smoking and you should consume fat-free food till you are checked by your cardiologist. It is advisable that you stop alcohol intake too and at a later date consume maximum two pegs of an alcoholic beverage a day(one peg for a woman). You must take your medicines properly and be cautious about your sex life too and for a stipulated period of time, which your cardiologist shall specify,do not drive.Do not be over-anxious as anxiety may be harmful for your general health.Have faith on God and trust your cardiologist.View Thread

You could be having a WPW syndrome or an LGL syndrome. These cases could often lead to palpitation leading to PSVT or atrial fibrillation.Do not be upset as currently there is no medication to alter your PR interval but yes you should consult a cardiologist and get the correct diagnosis done.I hope a suitable cardiologist will sort out the problems that you have and you could live a better life.

If you have such sort of a palpitation,a 24 hour Holter recording is absolutely essential and you must also recheck your fasting TSH level in blood. If you have got to wait for 6 months you might consult a general physician because you need a doctor to prescribe such tests.Do not be over-anxious because anxiety might also be a contributory factor for palpitation. We must also not forget about a routine ECG before doing a Holter recording.Sometimes loop recorders are also of use, both external as well as internal implantable loop recorders which might well record some unknown events which a baseline ECG and Holter might fail to record. It is good to see that you have cut-short your coffee drinking which might also be an incriminating factor. All in all do not get nervous but be bold and face the situation after consulting a doctor.

It is very vital to know what is your heart rate. You must reduce your heart rate with medicines if you have a high heart rate.In case of paroxysmal atrial fibrillation you may be relieved of your disease all on your own but in your case it may be persistent or permanent atrial fibrillation. There are new drugs in the market with relatively less side effects. You may try them but only after consulting your physician or cardiologist. If you have slow atrial fibrillation then also you need to take aspirin or anticoagulants provided you do not have side effects. So just diet and life style changes would not work.

It does not mean that you have no heart disease with an inconclusive stress test. You must undergo an ECG,Echocardiography or a PET Scan of your heart. The pains in the arms could be well due to Cervical Spondylosis. So you need to undergo an X-Ray of cervical spine. You need to cut down your BP through healthier life style changes and Anti hypertensive medication as per the advice of your doctor.Climacteric or approaching menopause could well be the culprit in female subjects of your age.Do not be anxious but please contact your doctor and discuss with him or her with the points that I have mentioned.

Please do not panic. You must get your ECG done at least once a year along with Blood glucose and lipid profile once a year. Please also check your TSH.You must maintain your weight by doing light aerobic exercises 20 minutes a day,5 days a week. Please do not smoke and do not drink and avoid consumption of fast food and fizzy drinks as far as possible. And still then no one knows when death comes. But my friend do not compare your life with your mom or your grandmother. If God wills you may live much long than your parents.

It is really difficult to predict how many days your dad shall survive but as a doctor myself I can assure you that if he quits smoking and stops taking alcohol and follows diligently all the medicines and life style changes that his doctor has prescribed then he still has a chance to survive for quite sometime in a healthy condition. But as I said unforeseen circumstances are always unavoidable even with the best possible treatment.
Thank you
