I have heard of other problems it can cause a person to have with their heart. I was taken off it when I had a heart attack. I then started seeing a law suit over it, but when I read the paperwork and symptoms ( Mostly CHF) I knew it did not cause my SCAD MI. I am a member of a group of women in a study at Mayo dealing with SCAD and I am the only one ever on darvocet so I don't believe it was my cause.
I have syncope at times. Its wierd. I have a hot flash ( like menopause) Then if I don't fan myself I pass out. They found with the tilt table test, the hot flash is my bp dropping seconds before, the hot flash and when I fan myself my bp comes up. if I don't fan myself out I go.. just for a few seconds but out just the same. I am on two meds for it, and they do help. Midodrine hcl 2.5 mg three times a day and Fludrocotisone Acetate 0.1mg two pills daily. I split them one am and one pm. it doesn't say how to do them. Just two a day. They seem to work. it has cut it down to maybe one or two episodes annually that actually go fully to fainting. He has never said why or what causes it, I am just happy it has decreased so much. Good luck. This has to be awful for a otherwise healthy teenager.View Thread
I did have a heart attack there 5 years ago caused my blood clots from spontaneous dissection in the right coronary, and two branches off there. I keep developing scar tissue to the right where it branches into two arteries. I have already had stress echos, and a PET scan in April and May. He said when nitro doesn't help my angina then I should go to the ER.View Thread
I realize I have a full metal jacket as you say. I know Mayo and the University hospital both were not happy with all the stents in the right coronary. (Mayo) They told me the Pet scan shows there is not enough live tissue to do a by-pass.?? Also according to my Cardiac MD"s I have no plaque in my arteries. My mi was caused by dissection, and five bare metal stents were placed. I have been in the cath lab about 8 times for medicated stents. Once he cut out the scar tissue, each other time i received 2 stents untill Mar 2012 I received One. All because of scar tissue. No plaque.!!View Thread
