Instead of just giving Americans a list of healthy food choices, the federal government takes a stab at showing us what not to eat. Get the facts here.
Here they are:
Don't smoke
Lose weight
Exercise regularly
Eat vegetables
I quit smoking at 30 after smoking off and on for 5 years. I'm horrified that I ever smoked...have not decided if I will admit it if my kids ever ask. I'm at a good weight and exercise at least 3x a week. My kids eat an amazing amount of veggies...I do not.
So more exercise and veggies for me! How are YOU doing with this list?

a low HDL number (below 40 for men and 50 for women);
triglycerides over 150;
waist size 35 inches and above for women and 40 inches and above for men;
blood pressure 130/85 or greater;
fasting glucose of 100 or greater,
Each of the above is a cardiac risk factor, but in combination they are a lethal threat to heart health. The fact that Metabolic Syndrome risk can be lowered by eating a diet rich in vegetables, fruit, whole grains and fish is great news.View Thread

He gives good suggestions to get moving!

Do you eat fish? How do you prepare? Of course, my fave is pan fried - but my husband will grill and make fish tacos - yum!

- The recall affects only the Coumadin brand and not generic brands.
- Patients should NOT stop taking their Coumadin. If their prescription is included in the recall, patients should contact their doctors for medical advice.

And that trans fat reduced that risk.
More details in the PC forum at the above link.
But as someone that has both CAD (70% blockage of the left main and CABG) and a moderate risk PC (3+7) & prostatectomy I am going to maintain my consumption of fish oil and fatty fish.View Thread

This is the best thing that I have seen that ties all of those together along with trans-fats and other things.View Thread

WPW Syndrome stands for Wolff-Parkinson-White Syndrome. It is also called as Ventricular pre-excitation with arrhythmia. WPW syndrome is the most common type of ventricular pre-excitation syndromes. In normal conditions, the electrical signals in the heart move through the heart using a single path. It is as a result of the movement of electrical signals from the heart's atria to the ventricles, the heart beat is caused.View Thread

I started having palpitations when I was just 22. When the symptoms first started occurring I was terrified. Getting medical attention wasn't easy either. It seemed like no one would take me seriously. After 2 years of living my life without knowing what was wrong with me I finally got a full cardio work up and to my surprise everything came out normal. To this day I still don't know what causes my palps but I am learning to live with them. I actually made a website just as a support group. Please visit me www.heart4pvc.webs.com
