Playing volleyball Tuesday and Thursday evening for 90 minutes, and alternate Sundays for 2 to 4 hours.
Only as old as you feel.
Last Friday I rowed with a young woman, 27 who runs, and teaches yoga. I wore out the poor thing in an hour, she said she might need a nap. I was relaxed and felt fine.View Thread

One hour rowing on Thursday
Two hours volleyball Friday
Six hours volleyball Saturday
Four hours volleyball Sunday
Two Hours volleyball Tuesday
Decent fitness. Not getting tired.View Thread

Go as you feel. Pay attention, and pain is a message. Write more often, log how you feel.
Eat right, stress less or not at all, work your way back to fitness, and you may have almost no limits. But do remember you are not 25 anymore.

"Pomegranate juice had potent antiatherogenic effects in healthy humans ... that may be attributable to its antioxidative properties."

I have been eating pomegranates or drinking the juice since 2007, when I found this and other articles regarding the beneficial effects of
pomegranates.View Thread

Played 90 minutes of volleyball Saturday, and 4 hours on Sunday. Played well, teams I was on won 5 of 7 games, and the two losses were very close. Good to be a positive contributor, help teams win.View Thread

But I did get a strain in my left rhomboid area near the shoulder blade, so no rowing until that is healed, and strengthened.
Glad my cardiologist's approved adjusting my blood pressure medicine. I now take 1/8, 1/6, or 1/4 tablet most times to maintain blood pressure in a tolerable zone. More than that and I am too drowsy.
I also discovered I love my "The Byrds" Greatest Hits CD. I can put that on and drive without getting drowsy. Interesting poetic lyrics, or silly ones, I never get tired of hearing, and great intrumentation. That steel guitar has just enough minor irritation to stay in mind all the time, too.View Thread

After rowing last Sunday, and my heart rate monitor /workout planner (Suunto T4d) registering a 5.0 workout and scheduling me for NOTHING for 5 days, I rested mostly just light walking, for three days.
Then 70 minutes volleyball Thursday, Training Effect of 4.3
Bowled three games Friday night (128, 146, 189, my new high game and three game set)
Archery Saturday morning
Rowed again Sunday morning, Training Effect of 3.4 in 60 minutes
Volleyball again Sunday afternoon, Training Effect of 4.1 in 90 minutes
My heart rate is adapting to volleyball with its standing and adrenaline action. The first two times I played, it hit a training effect of 5.0 each time. These two times it stayed in 145 - 160 range, rather than 155-170 range.View Thread

Took my younger daughter for her first lesson on Labor Day, and she loved it. Took the younger one last Sunday, and she loved it. Now wants to row on a regular basis. COOL ! Plus there is a local meetup group that does social rows with this club.
Exercise heaven.View Thread

Hilly walk Thursday evening for 45 minutes, carrying 12 lbs. Light load, hardly noticed it.
Saturday, archery, and a short workout on a rowing machine.
Will row today, but will just do technique, have an easy row of it.
I might walk a little, just because its good for circulation, healing.
Tuesday, walk only.View Thread
