Paraoxonase is the enzyme family that makes HDL more effective in reverse cholesetrol transport, activates ox-LDL cholesterol removal from foam cell/macrophage caused blockages opening blocked arteries, and is a powerful anti-oxidant as well.
People will appear to need less oxygen when exercising if they have better cardiac circulation, so that the heart muscle can work more effectively. I believe I get that from my secondary collateral network. I have to be getting oxygen from somewhere, and having a dozen small 80% blockages would sort of get in the way.
Maybe the beet juice has something that helps with nitric oxide, that helps relax blood vessels to improve blood flow.

I'm one of the few who is very low oil/fat. My wife uses PAM, with no ill effect to me.
If I do get some unwanted fat or oil in a meal, I'll now ontice some extra noise in the lower intestine, and hope it stays there.
Even small amounts of nuts bother me, with the exception of pistachios which I can eat every day.

Yes, thank you for the kind words. And as EG stated, all the contributors make a difference.
I'm not much of a regular poster on this forum, all the more surprise at your kudos. I write more on other forums in WebMD.
I'm also a daily oatmeal person.
A friend at work I nickname the "raisin police" thinks I should not overfill my cafeteria bowl between the oatmeal and two big scoops of dark raisins I add, then then the top never fits. I have that with two egg whites and tomatoes all work days.
Weekends, my wife makes me double the amount of oatmeal, and add raisins and dried blueberries. We use "Coaches' Oats " brand, from Costco. Its what she prefers.
My diet has to be good. No major angina, no pinpoint angina either in a couple years.

I used to eat a lot more, and some fat at every meal. Now, I eat almost no fat, and probably 2/3 to 1/2 the calories I ate before bypass surgery, yet I am able to gain back some weight and maintain it. I do not get hungry, but eat more by the clock.
I eat highly nutritious food, have no hunger, and a strong immune system.

Maybe if you and the pistachios are unsalted.View Thread

Defense and rebounding appreciated, and I pass the ball out. Poor ball handler, so I try to keep that under wraps and just play without the ball with defense, steals and rebounding position, shoot occasionally.View Thread
