I see a lot of people commenting on other websites that they have had AIH for not long and although I haven't either (about seven years now, I just wanted to put in my own little thing about it as well. Right now I am on 3mg Prednisone and 75mg Azathioprine. I used to take as much as 25mg of Prednisone but have been reduced down to this point about two years ago! I can honestly say that once you get used to the feeling of having the disease it does not impose on your daily life that much, except for the abdominal discomfort which I have semi-often. I did gain weight at first when I was diagnosed but it just kinda flattened out and weight loss is possible, believe me! As of late I have been feeling as though my side has been hurting more severely than normal and plan to go in to see what is happening with all that. For all you newly diagnosed people out there, I just want to say that no matter how hard and odd it may seem to have this new disease, there is more information being added and researched all the time, I remember when I used to be able to find almost nothing on the condition and now there are so many resources!View Thread
She is getting very tired of me researching this constantly and asking questions about her health. I lost my first spouse years ago and so I am very anxious. I am tired of driving her crazy and so I looked for some kind of support group.
The big problem right now is fatigue and a lot of gas after any meal. She is so miserable I wish I knew what to do for her. The problem seems to be mostly in the evenings. We are avoiding fatty foods but it doesn't seem to make a difference for her. She has trouble sleeping every second night or so.
She's been eating yoghurt, cottage cheese (for protein), chicken broth. tofu, rice noodles, dry toast.
We've been to the hospital so many times this week and she's given so many blood samples. We have to go back again this week. She's just sick of thinking about it and I'm not helping any!View Thread

Hi. Was diagnosed recently but nothing is making sense from my doctor and I haven't seen a specialist yet.
So, I am wondering if someone who knows could answer some questions for me?
I don't know where to post or anything like that so please forgive my breach of etiquette.
Has anyone ever heard of being tested and it coming back negative on the first test but positive on a viral load..the second test?
I was exposed to Hep B through sharps...hep b came back clear but the Doc tells me I have hep c? I don't understand the tests...
DO YOU WORK IN A HOSPITAL OR MD OFFICE? I WOULD SAY SEE AND MD AND GET RETESTED...
YOUR POSTING IS GREAT I JUST GET LOST IN THAT LONG THREAD...PS...I AM OLD...LOL...
PLEASE ASK AWAY ANY MORE THAT I CAN HELP WITH...

We're happy to announce the launch of a new tool here at WebMD that we think our members will enjoy -- WebMD Answers .
While community is a place to get to know your fellow members and experts on a deep and supportive level, sometimes folks just want to ask a question and receive an answer. That's what WebMD Answers is all about.
Do you have friends that you've tried to get to join you here in community, but they feel they don't have the time to spend? Maybe Answers is a tool they can use for quick access.
Anyone can ask a question, and anyone can answer a question. Experts, partner organizations, staff and moderators will also be responding to some questions.
We invite you all to go in and check it out today. If you have any questions about this new tool, post them here and we'll try to help you out.

I didn't think to ask her why I was just getting them. I was diagnosed in 2001. Has anyone else had that happen? Ijust wondered if it is an
indication of anything. My bloodwork didn't look any worse than the last time. thanks
