Hi Sheila, Did you have a biopsy? Do you know what stage of the disease you are? I lost weight on tx (didn't have any problems getting it back though.) I also was a nonresponder to it in 2007. It might be a good idea to get a 2nd opinion.
Hi Karma, I too am paying for mistakes I made during my teen yrs. I'm sorry you don't have much support on the home front. This is a very good website. I felt so lucky to have found it in 2001 when I was first diagnosed... take care
Hi Mary, how are you feeling today? Are you taking the new third drug with pegylated interferon & ribaviron? I treated in 2007 for 3 months and was a non-responder. My worst side effects were from the first night of tx. Except for the fatigue throughout I didn't experience the severe flu-like symptoms that I got with the first shot. I hope you do well. Hang in there and many blessings to you
thanks for your response. I know my doctor is just being careful. i have chronic hcv, type 1a. I've only had one biopsy which indicated stage 2. I treated for 3 months in 2007 but was a non-responder, however every time I get labs drawn it shows elevated AFP, which leads to a sonogram, which have all come out tumor free. My original gastro doc no longer takes my insurance so I need to find a new dr. Do you think I need to request a biopsy since i haven't had one in 10 yrs.View Thread
you are the same stage and genotype as me. I wish the tx ihad in 2007 would have worked. i tested at 3 moths and was a non-responder so they took me off the tx. I've just been waiting for the next things in treatment came out. It is out now but think I will call the doc and see if I can do a biopsy of my liver to see if there have been changes. If my hep hasn't worsened and i'm still at stage 2 i'm not going to put myself through tx.View Thread
I also have Fibromyalgia and chronic HCV (probably contracted 30 yrs. ago). So it's a double wammie on the fatique. I am also on disability. Are you taking lyrica and/or Cymbalta? I was already taking both of those for a nerve problem in my face.Between the meds and fatique I am SO loopy. i'm going to lay down now. take careView Thread
