Don't be scared, be prepared. I started 6 weeks ago, the first week was the worst and it gets better after that. Drink lots of water(.5 everyday and .75 on day of injection)of your total weight, take some pain relievers a few hours after the shot and something like Benadryl to help sleep through the night. This formula works for me and might for you. I swear once you get through the first week it will not be a scary from there on. Good luck!!View Thread
I had a similar response about 3 days after starting treatment. The rash was all over and neither Benadryl or cortisone had any effect. My doctor prescribed Hydroxyz HCL 25mg (1-2 tablets every 6 hrs) and Triamcinolone Acetonide creme. Pills may make you sleepy but they work. I only had to use them for 1 day and the rash was gone completely. I have been on treatment for 6 weeks and the rash has not reoccurred. I also take the pills on the night I shoot the interferon to help me sleep through the night. Do not stop treatment, work with your doctor to find solutions to the side effects. Good luck!!!View Thread
I'm in my 6th week and found that taking meds right with fat/food seems to keep the side effects at a minimum. The first 2 weeks I did as directed by first eating and then taking meds 30 mins later. That did not work out well, I had burning, itching and hemorroids. Changed up the way I take the meds and increased food intake slightly and things got better right away. Good luck!!!View Thread
