Cindy, im going to call my doc at the Mayo Clinic in Jax today and see if we can step the 10 mg of prednisone down some. Suppose to have a biopsy done tis month but dont really see the need if im responding well to the medication(all numbers are in normal range)
Im wondering why your energy levels are still down if you are in remissinion and off the meds.
Hey Hjacoby, its remarkable how similar my experience and condition is to yours. My AIS came on fast and furious as well, and i responded very well to the pred and imuran therapy. I also worked out 5 days a week, ate very clean and was at the top of my health. My doc theorizes that my condition may have been brought on by in part, some over the counter supplements and vitimins combined with stress and over working out. Any thoughts?
p,s im at the point where i think i should be off at least the pred. because my blood work has been in normal range for several months now. How long were you in "normal" range before you were taking off the pred? (im still on 10 mg)
Aprylsong, i feel your pain. i was diagnosed with AIH in Oct of 2012. Had to go to the Mayo clinic in JAX before I could get any real answeres and proper diagnosis. Been on combo of pregnisone and imuron and have responded very well.
Hey Shpatz, cant believe your doc would give you that advice on Tylenol PM. I was prescibed Abien at a relitively low dosage of 5ml and it does the trick. My doc is a liver specialist at the Mayo Clinic in Jaxonville Fl.
Incidentaly, i was diagnosed with AIH back in November of las year and was put on 60mg Pregnisone and then weened down to 10mg now with a recent addition of azathioprine(Imuran) and have responded very well. liver enzymes back to normal range. hope this helps
