I'm so sorry to hear of your diagnosis and the pain you're having to endure. You've been so strong and I know how hard it must be some days.
You are right to come here to look for some online support to help you through the tough times. I'm sure our community will be chiming in with their words of support, too.
I just wanted to stop in to say that we care about you and want to make sure you have some crisis resources on hand since you mention wishing it was all over. We want to make sure you have help if you need it!.
Here is a Crisis Resources Link with hotlines and web sites that may be of help if you may be in trouble.
Take care and please update us on how you're doing!
You can check out those links above to see if you might be able to pitch in. Or do a quick Google search for any events in your local area. Heck, if you're spunky enough, you could even organize your own Awareness Walk or something as small as handing out literature on the street.
Thanks again for the inspiration! I hope you'll come back often.
check out this post and see if you can find some way to pitch in!View Thread
Knowledge is the antidote to fear. ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
Very good to hear! I'm so happy that you got back your negative result. Now just follow the doctor's advice and play safe next time.
I hope you'll come back to see if you might be able to offer support for someone else that may be going through the same thing. I'm sure your experience that you shared with us here will also impact someone else's life in a good way.
I'm sorry to hear of the anxiety you are facing over HIV exposure risk. You would be so much better served if you read through some of the very valuable information on how HIV is transmitted first of all.
The majority of people that think they may be at risk only believe so because they not understand the virus. Take some time to read through these articles to settle our mind:
If that doesn't help, or even if it does help a little, I would encourage you to participate on our Anxiety & Panic Disorders Community. That is where you will find help for this underlying issue that you're facing.
I'm so happy to hear that your results came back negative and you can now put this fear behind you. Use the safe precautions we've been taught, and you should be on your way.
It's great to see that our community has been helpful to you. The best way to "donate" is to give back to the community. You can do that by checking in every so often and sharing your experience and how you overcame your fears with others going through the same thing.
That's what's so wonderful about communities...everyone is sharing real life experiences that they learned from.
Thanks for sharing yours with us! I hope we'll be seeing more from you on the other side of the fence from now on.
Our WebMD communities are a wonderful place where members find friendship, support, insight and share ideas. However, there are occasions when a post that is made violates WebMD's Terms and Conditions . We rely on our members to help WebMD maintain a safe and comfortable environment where everyone feels at home.
Please know that no other member will know that you've made a report, nor does reporting a post automatically mean it will be removed.
Here are the kinds of posts about which we're concerned:
Personal Attacks (disagreement is NOT an attack)
Inappropriate Member Nicknames
Use of inappropriate slang and/or masked/veiled profanity
Members discussing their personal physicians by name
Members who identify themselves as under 13 year of age
Too much personally identifying information (phone numbers, home addresses, etc)
Posts containing links to inappropriate sites (pornography, etc.)
Posts which are nothing more than erotica or soliciting cyber sex.
Someone planning suicide and needs our help
The best way to handle any such post on our communities is to not reply (other than when someone is in crisis). Instead, you can help your community by alerting the WebMD Community Moderator staff via the "Report This" link found below each post. You even have the opportunity to explain why you are reporting something.
The moderator staff will receive that report and will review the post to determine whether or not it violates the WebMD Terms and Conditions or if the person needs crisis intervention. If the message is in violation of our rules, it will be removed along with any replies.
Please keep in mind that you should only report posts that you feel are violations of WebMD's Terms and Condition or needs a moderator's crisis intervention. Do not report posts simply because you disagree with the information contained within another member's post.
Thank you for helping to keep our WebMD communities on track. It really does "take a village," and we appreciate everyone who helps us to keep our communities a great place to gather together in our quest to stay happy and healthy.
