So I go to the doctor, he gives me dycylomien( sorry for the spelling) it gets a little better, and also Nexium. Well I started taking both and it has not 100% gone away. Things have improved but not gone away. The one thing that is stressing me out is the appetite has not come back yet. I have high anxiety so thats really freaking me out. My doc told me that if the symptoms continue to call back today and he wants to do an endoscopy to see more of what could be causing it. The funny thing is the nexium has 95% elimated that pain and for the most part when I lay on my stomach that feeling has gone away also, but sometimes it comes back. I am curious if it depends on what I eat. Im so lost and getting worried. Has anyone else ever had symptoms like this!? I have to mention no blood in stools, the ones that I have, no weight loss, no vomiting, only got nauseous once. ANy advice will help.
Thanks!View Thread

then I started going bathroom once or twice a day but very light brown and loose - I have had IBS in the past and wondering if I could have a recurrence due to all this fruit? Have had it for a week or so.
Does this sound serious? Anyway, would appreciate your response. Thank you.View Thread
After much prayer and careful observation, it was discovered she had a milk intolerance. After three days of being completely off of milk the migraines, headaches and dizziness completely went away. Her stomach size decrease 2 inches and she lost about 5 pounds.
We did a MRT test for other food intolerances. She is now working with a dietician and is slowly reintroducing foods. She is off of all medications.
I wish I went this direction first rather than spending thousands at the specialist.View Thread
The doctor prescribed probiotics, a medicine to slow things down (so far, though, it hasn't) and a hemmorhoid cream to help with bleeding.
My next follow up appt. is in 4 weeks and I am frustrated with the problem. Any ideas on what it could be? Dr. was thinking Chrohn's but since the tests are coming up normal, I don't know if that's a possibility?View Thread
I've been dealing with this for a while now and it just keeps getting worse. My bloating is very, very extreme. How extreme? Well I am by no means fat, but due to my terrible bloating I have to wear pants with a size 33 or usually 34 waist even though my waist is actually only 29 or 30 inches minus the bloating. I'm 5'9" and about 180 pounds so 3-5 inches of bloating is rather severe, no?
While I'm happy that the following is true, it's still very, very frustrating: I had an endoscopy done and nothing was found and my gastroenterologist and another doctor both said I wasn't allergic to any foods either.
I'm really confused. It is never painful though, so that's a very good thing. I do pass gas a lot though. But in general, it just feels like there's an inflated balloon in my stomach! My belly really juts out!
I try to eat somewhat healthy but I do eat BS foods too. For example, I love to eat almonds, sandwiches on whole wheat bread and apples, but I do still eat pizza and fast food from time to time. Although my diet doesn't seem to matter too much. I feel bloated all the same either way. I really don't eat vegetables at all however the almonds and apples do give me a lot of fiber right?
Might I be deficient in a certain vitamin? I really need help since the doctors say I'm apparently fine!
Thank you all!View Thread
Anyway, I have problems with dairy in any form (large amounts leads me to the ER!), anything acidic, fatty, some fruits... I get heart burn from a freaking peanut butter sandwich.
I have read in some places that I need MORE fiber, like whole wheat, but in other places it says to stay away from that and eat french bread and sourdough.
I would also like to start taking a supplement, because I often feel malnourished and bloated and constipated. I'm thinking a fiber supplement but I don't want to get "addicted" to it.
Suggestions? Where do I go from here? I used to just deal with the symptoms but they're making me miserable and I feel like a fat pig from all the bloating and am embarrassed in public. I LOVE to cook, but am feeling limited on that as well. White flour? Sugar? Butter?
Any help would be great. What works for you???View Thread
These are almost worse than the stomach issues because I feel off balance and less able to function on any level. When I mentioned it to my last gastroenterologist, he said that the gut and the head are directly connected, but didn't offer any help.
Does anybody else have these or similar situations?

I wonder if I have an intestinal blockage.... Should I take some fiber or more magnesium? Or will that make my symptoms worse? I had some tea with soy milk this morning and had intense cramping afterward....
Yesterday after I took magnesium, I vomited. But since then, I've had some more and haven't vomited.
Any ideas for what to do? I realize maybe I shouldn't take the pain meds, but I can't handle the pain.View Thread

Its the SAME thing everytime, starts with that bad odor Gas, then the pain, to the point of taking pain meds. Then the runs to the point she dehydrates.
Anyone have a clue what this could be???? The Dr seems a puzzled as the rest of us.View Thread
I am currently seeing a couple of doctors who think I might have IBS but I am not officially diagnosed yet and I am hypothyroid (on t3 and t4)
About 2 months ago I tried to give up gluten and about 2 weeks ago I got really good at it and had none. I did this because I noticed whenever I had gluten my allergies were very bad, maybe this was a mistake.
On Monday I saw a naturalistic doctor and she put me on some vitamins and supplements (vitamin b12 and some probiotics and multi vitamins) On Tuesday I had frequent urination about every 1/2 hour to an hour and then realized I was constipated. I took exlax and it didn't help. Then I tried milk of magnesia and within a few hours I had the runs and went quite a bit. After this I stopped having to pee every hour which was great. I still feel that I have some left though... that I just can't get out and I am really at a loss of what to do. I was so urgent today that I even got a fleet enema. That caused me to go more but I still feel like there is more right there I just can't get out...
Has anyone ever experienced this? I am starting to question if anything is even there and why if there isn't am I feeling there is. I drink A LOT of water everyday but have been lacking with the fiber since being gluten free (which I stopped the past 2 days because I feel that is part of the problem.) If anyone has any advice I would really appreciate it. Thank you in advance.View Thread

I've been having issues with constipation my entire life. It's not that it hurts, or anything. I just don't feel the need to go. It takes maybe a week, or longer sometimes, for me to use the bathroom. And I don't release a lot, even though I feel I should have more. When I was a child, I had to use enemas and my mother would give me 'Milk of Magnesia'. HORRIBLE TASTE, but effective.
Now I recently had my Gallbladder removed in December 2011. Few months ago. It was infected with multiple gallstones. It took about two weeks before after that that I had to take liquid saline laxative. Once again, horrible taste.. but extremely effective. I was stuck to the toilet that entire day it felt.
I'm still getting regular constipation to the point where I'm getting nauseous after eating small portions, or even drinking anything. The laxatives I have aren't working anymore, really. I'm using 'Prunelax' tablets. Haven't used the saline laxative, or milk of magnesia. I'm thinking I should go back to those.. but I shudder at the taste. Ick!
**** Any idea what could be causing this 'condition' my entire life? And why it feels that it has gotten worse after my gallbladder surgery? Or perhaps it's me just associating the two together.
I was also 2months premature when I was born.. I don't know if that could be a reason or not?
ANY opinions/advice/etc would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thank you for taking the time to read.

I am from New England but live on the West Coast. I thought this would help with outdoor allergies seeing as winters are less sever here. Well I got out here in 2005 and my IBS started up then off and on. Now I am having trouble putting ANY food in me. It is either stopped up or "get out of my way" time. I have been sorting out what does and does not set me off. I had it down to white breast chicken meat, tofu, potato, and corn. Not any more. I was in 10+ pain the day before Valentines in the ER. What really sucks...I am allergic to alot of pain killers too. So for now, tofu, almond milk, ice and some flavoring (almond, vanilla..etc) is what I am drinking.
Am I sane? As sane as I can be. That is the only thing not messed up with me. I am only 42. The docs here want to give me depression or anxiety meds. I refused. That infuriated me.
Right now, I am waiting for an appointment to see if the state will pay for more allergy testing. No amount of upper or lower GI's or GI specialists have been able to fix me.
The last time I saw this new doctor, who specializes in IBS, she said this is as good as life gets. At least I know now I cannot be fixed. Now I want to know why did I get allergies and IBS?
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks for reading about this crazy caliwolf. I do not feel so alone here.View Thread
Symptoms:
Unable to pass gas (however, I am not constipated)
Severe abdominal pain made worse by eating foods (any food)
Loss of appetite (but I make myself eat)
No fever or nausea
Medications/remedies tried:
Phazyme
Gas X
Beano
Cola
Ginger ale
Dr prescribed Donnatol and has now recommended Prilosec.
None of the above have worked.
Recent medical background:
Last month I was hospitalized overnight due to a hemorrhagic ovarian cyst rupture. While in the hospital, they gave me morphine and dialudid for the pain. Once out, I was on two different strengths of Vicodin. 5 mg and 10 mg to help with the pain. I was on those for 3 weeks. I was also on Keflex for an infection for a week. The pain with my abdomen and the inability to pass gas started once the pain I was having due to the cyst was gone. Almost immediately.
I'm wondering if all the medications have anything to do with this problem. I've tried explaining it to my Dr repeatedly that it's gas pains and he first prescribed Donnatol and now the Prilosec. I'm awaiting my Dr appointment with a gastro later this week but I am wondering if there is anything I can do in the meantime for the discomfort.
Thank you in advance.View Thread
