***Female, 22 years old. zero children yet.
*** previously had a few medium sized cysts and a large amount of small cysts on both ovaries, and a dark mass on my uterus which seemed to disappear within a few months. The ER believed it was a blood clot.
During the time they found these cysts I was having severe bleeding that would not stop. All periods I ever did have are only 2-3 days of spotting to very light bleeding.
***Presently, I have been checked for cysts and none have come back. But, I have several almost medium sized follicles on both my ovaries, no period will start on its own. Birth control (all kinds), provera, and other things have been done to start it back up normally.
I received my period twice while all this happened, due to whatever medication we were trying at the time, but didnt get it again after that.
All my hormones came back normal one 3 separate occasions. My testosterone came back 5 points higher than normal, once but was normal every other time.
I have gained about 25-30 pounds since this all began in 2009 and cannot lose the weight at all. I was always a VERY tiny girl. Never weighed more than 120 in my entire life, and all of a sudden ( felt like overnight.. crazy) I was 145-150. Never really had acne, until now. One goes away and another is there. Lower abdomenal pain every once in a while varying from mild to severe, like cramping i guess but I never ever had a cramp, even during periods, before this. Cramping feeling gets so severe i feel like i will pass out or vomit. I get very pale.
Glucose levels are always in the 80's. Insulin levels are being checked.
My dr's are taking their dandy old time and Ive been switch between so many drs only to not have results... But they are "guessing: either PCOS or Insulin Resistance. Im just so sick and tried and fustrated and want some type of a direction to the answer.
Ive dont have any of the characteristics of PCOS though.
Ive always been really skinny, no acne, no hormonal imbalances before... Thank you soooo much. You dont know how much this means to me.View Thread
