hi there, No question is silly when in comes to women issues. i want to share my story which just happened recently, sounds like yours. Im 32 years. I used to have 35 day cycle for at least the last two years that ive tracked it. Then suddenly, i missed a period and i knew i wasnt pg. i was cramping 24/7, felt bloated, gassy, just felt sick. so after CD50, i went to see a gyn. I found out that i had a cyst on my left ovary. Nways, they gave me progesterone and i had a period after a week which shrinked the cyst completely and i had a normal ultrasound result. Then i missed a period the following month. This time i changed gyn for a second opinion. i was really scared that things are going irregular on me when i was just thinking of having a baby. This new gyn started with taking blood tests. She swore that my insulin and thyroid levels could be the cause of missing periods and not ovulating. I had a complete thyroid panel test and insulin (im not diabetic at all). The results came and everything she did was off the range. She did not pursue to treat me since she did not see the need. She referred me to an endocrinologist and said if i have those levels taken care of, then im good to go. My PCP happens to do endocrinology so im now under his care. im on prescription synthroid for hypothyroidism He too said the same thing, that if i have my thyroid levels regulated, i will not need to treat the high insulin. everything in my body will just resume. I will have normal cycles, i will ovulate normally and my insulin levels will be back to normal. funny thing is that he made me promise not to get pg while he was treating me for thyroid. He said if i do, my baby will not be healthy because my metabolism and all the important hormones will be off range. He told me to give it at least 3 months before i try again to get pg and by that time, my thyroid hormones will be back to normal. So all in all, have your doc check out your blood levels. I also noticed during testing that my folic acid levels are low, He wants me to have a certain number (i forgot) before i conceive . so im on prescription folic acid which i take everyday. I just hope my journey will help you figure out why all of a sudden your hormones are acting up. Hope everything will be well with you, and everyone. Cheers!View Thread
