I have been reading posts from women who have undergone infertility treatment through IVF. There have been several posts indicating that the use of the IVF meds (lupron.. etc) have left these women with permanent thyroid disease. Is there any truth to IVF meds causing throiyd disease? If so, what is the likelyhood if this occuring. I am just starting my first roung of IVF treatment and I am concerned about this. I also have a famliy history of thyroid disease, however, I have been tested and have normail thyroid levels.

I just did my first IUI on Sunday and I am 5dp IUI. I really want to take a pregnancy test tommorow so bad. THIS IS BRUTAL. I did Gonal F & the trigger shot. This two weeks is going to kill me. Has anyone else gone through this? What are my chances of this working? We tried for 2 years and I realized I only ovulate about every other cycle and my cycles are ALL over the place. Any support would be amazing.
Thanks ladies!View Thread

My husband and I would like to freeze our embryos because we are not ready to have children yet, but we will be one day. Because of our jobs, we currently live overseas, and my husband has very limited vacation days, maybe 2 to 3 weeks when we will be able to fly to the US to do egg retrieval for myself, then combine my fresh eggs with my husband's fresh sperm, then freeze our embryos. From my understanding, I will receive 2 weeks of fertility medication injections, then do the egg retrieval procedure. However, I am confused as to when are the fertility medications administered? Are fertility medications administered the day after I get my period? I am confused about at what point in my menstrual cycle should I start to fly to the US, for example, if I have already gotten my period, should I wait for 2 to 3 weeks before I fly over? Because after those 2 to 3 weeks, I will be expecting my period that week, and I can fly over to the US and go to the fertility clinic to get those medication, and as soon as my period comes, I can give myself those shots or take the pills. I will, of course, do a phone consultation with the fertility clinic before I fly over and fill out all the forms and fedex the registration forms over to the clinic. I just don't want to fly over at any point during the month, then wait in the US for 2 weeks before my period comes, then take another 2 weeks of fertility medication, because we only have 2 to 3 weeks of vacation for the whole year, we cannot leave work that long.
Thanks!

After 9 failed IUI's (& a 4 yr break- from ttc, not eachother haha)
DH & I are finally moving on to IVF.
So we went to RE the other day to get the ball rolling. Had baseline BW done & was given script for Provera (since I've always been irregular).
Got the phone call on Friday that I was good to start provera for 10 days. & was told to call back on CD1 to make an appt for CD3.
What I'm confused about is, RE said nothing about BCPs, In the times in the past that I've been on Provera I usually start AF on day 9 or 10.
Just nervous that if that happens again, it doesn't seem like much time to get meds?? Aren't you supposed to start Lupron immediately (like cd 2 or cd3)?? Im so confused. I don't know if I'm just nervous about all this and making my brain crazy. DH & I have been TTC for 9 yrs and this is pretty much our only shot

Thanks everyone for your help.

10 total rounds of clomid, 2 of femara, and too many days of progesterone to count, 3 IUIs, IVF first Beta 5/3/12!
At least that's what the HPT says. Reality will come crashing back down on me at some point. Little details like I still have 2 betas to go and what if all 3 implanted and unless we get to 10 weeks, we will have another angel and and and will have to be dealt with, but right now I'm beyond happy and blessed. Good luck to everyone.View Thread10 total rounds of clomid, 2 of femara, and too many days of progesterone to count, 3 IUIs, IVF first Beta 5/3/12!
