It's exciting that you're moving on to IVF. I was really scared of doing it, but it wasn't nearly as bad as I'd imagined. My shots weren't that bad and my egg retrieval was painless.

- What was your protocol/drugs&dosage? Short Lupron with Menopur and Bravelle. I think I did 150mg of each of the stim drugs. I don't really remember but I think they come in 75 ml vials and I mixed two daily. I also had a daily baby aspirin and used Vivelle estrogen patches.Later, after my bfp, I did progesterone in oil.
- How did you experience the stimulation drugs? I didn't have any bad side effects from any of them.
- What was the single worst side effect you experienced from the stimulation? I had a few "hot flashes" from the Lupron.
- What was/were the worst part(s) of the IVF cycle, for you, personally? Worrying about a bfn
- What do you think, if you know, was/were the hardest aspect(s) of the cycle for your SO? Worrying about how we would pay for multiple cycles. My dad paid for our IVF.
- Were you able to adjust the dose of the stimulation meds half way through the cycle, if needed? My RE actually upped my dosage halfway through.
- If you know, how long does one have to wait before starting an IVF cycle (that period when they put you 'on the pill'? Is it variable depending on each person? I think it depends on the person, but I had uterine polyps removed at the beginning of September and was pregnant by November 9th.

Sending baby dust your way!!!View Thread

The stim shots did hurt, but as long as I used an ice pack on my upper thigh for about 5 minutes, the area was usually too numb for me to feel much pain.View Thread

Good luck with the 2ww. It's the hardest part!! Baby dust!View Thread

I remember the cramping afterwards. My clinic wouldn't even prescribe any pain meds!!! I hope you have tons of eggs that fertilized.View Thread

In my case, my RE had me take birth control pills continuously, so I didn't have a period for almost a year. When we were ready for our IVF, I stopped the pills, but immediately started on Lupron injections, which put me into temporary, reversible menopause. Then, I started the stimulation injections. There is also a "long Lupron" protocol.
Good luck to you and your husband. Baby dust!View Thread

I was really nervous and scared before my ER, also. The medicine they gave me (Propofol) to put me into the twilight sleep worked so well, I didn't know I was even under until my RE was telling me that we were done. In my case, we only had 4 mature eggs and only 3 fertlized. My RE transferred all 3 and we just had our twins 12 days ago.
14 mature follicles is really awesome. Good Luck and lots of baby dust!!!View Thread
