It's so hard not to obsess when you are going through treatment. Even after I found out I was pregnant I took my temperature everyday to make sure it was still high... and then my husband hid the thermometer. Hoping the weekend passes quickly for you! And, try not to worry about the darkness of the line! A line is a line!!!!! And all PG tests are different!View Thread
Emily - After 4 failed IUI's we got a surprise BFP the cycle before IVF! Alexander Edward arrived September 1, 2010
Please just know that you are not alone, that your feelings are perfectly normal and okay. Going through treatment is both physically and emotionally taxing on your body. Your homones are all over the place, and as women we are emotionally tied to the physicalities of wanting to be pregnant, to go through labor and delivery, and to be a mom. I think it is hard for men to understand the emotional aspect, or maybe it's difficult for them to show their emotions. I definitely think that talking with someone is the way to go, and hopefully your husband will be on board for that too! Check with your clinic and see if they have counselors your can speak with!! Take Care!View Thread
I agree with Rose, you should definitely finish your IUI cycle... you just never know what can happen!
I did four IUI's that were al unsuccessful. My husband and I both checked out fine and were diagnosed with unexplained infertility. (I initially had som blockage with my tubes, but they were cleared after several HSG's).
I was 30 when I started treatment and our RE thought we should try 3 IUI's before moving to IVF given that we were young and healthy, even though the chances of conceiving were so much higher with IVF. I believe our doctor told us that othere was a 20% chance that we would get pregnant with IUI each cycle. So given that we tried 4 times, our chances were running out. We decided to do the 4th IUI b/c of timing of cycles and the holidays and then we were supposed to move on to IVF. We ended up getting pregnant on our own naturally the cycle before IVF, crazy amazing.
Like Rose said, the choice is different for everyone. Sounds like you are doing your research and talk with your doctor about his thoughts for upcoming cycles (if necessary). Good Luck!View Thread
I was told that my tubes were blocked after my first HSG done by a radiologist. My ob/gyn also gave me the news. I was devastated. She referred me immediately to the RE, who upon looking at the images decided he would repeat the HSG himself to try to unblock the tubes. During that procedure he kept pumping the dye through hoping it would spill, and it did eventually. So I would definitely see an RE to get another opinion. Good luck and sending prayers!View Thread
