Here is the title of the study my surgeon shared with me and the procedure I had to successfully correct my right renal ptosis.
Laparoscopic Nephropexy Exposes a Possible Underlying
Pathogenic Mechanism and Allows Successful Treatment with
Tissue Gluing of the Kidney and Fixation of the Colon to the
Lateral Abdominal Wall

I'm sorry it took me so long to respond. How are you feeling? I had surgery on December 13th and I am doing better than ever! My experience is that if you are having symptoms and the doctor is saying you "shouldn't" be, based on the size of the obstruction, you should continue to seek treatment. I, like you, could not stay on my feet for long periods of time and had constant pain and intestinal problems. I know how frustrating it can be trying to chase down a diagnosis.
My younger sister was just diagnosed with right renal ptosis and is having the same procedure I did next week.
Part of the surgical procedure my surgeon did was to attach my colon to the lateral abdominal wall, which I feel has really helped my GI problems I've had.
I met with two surgeons and they both mentioned that having a crossing vessel is a situation that needs to be addressed with surgery, so please don't give up and keep fighting for treatment. This is a real and unpleasant diagnosis that several urologists and nephrologists missed.
Please let me know if you would like to talk further; It was really hard for me to find other people in this situation, so if I can help out in any way, please let me know.View Thread

I have been recently diagnosed with floating kidney after 10 years of pain, multiple Emergency room visits each year and overall major decline in my overall health. I am meeting with two surgeons to discuss surgical treatment options very soon and wanted to ask you if you know how your surgeon did your procedure? There seems to be so many different ways to perform the procedure. Did you need a lot of help at home after the surgery? Also, overall, was having the surgery worth it? More pros than cons? I'm really nervous and haven't found a lot of people out there in the same situation, so any information would be greatly appreciated!View Thread
