Hi there! I was diagnosed with a floating left kidney when I was 9 years old. After 19 years I still get those shocked looks when people see it on scans and imaging. About a year ago I went for a yearly ultrasound to keep the kidney location current, and there happen to be a class of technicians there the same day. Well they were excited lol had me chuckling but hey I let them explore since they had only ever read about it.
As for your question about pregnancies. I have 2 beautiful children that were carried and delivered with little complications. My kidney usually sits very, very low (varying from the belly button area all the way down to between my bladder and uterus). My first pregnancy my kidney moved up and out of the way, my second pregnancy it moved more into my left hip. I did start seeeing a obgyn at 3 months. Since my kidney sits so low, "kidney shots" by baby were not plleasant, but bearable.
