I have just celebrated my one year anniversary of double knee replacement. Though it has been a hard recovery, I thought I was tough, but it was hard....I feel like I have done great. I walk between 3 and 4 miles a day and about 30 minutes on a stationary bike on the days I can't get out and walk. I have lost 60 pounds and have about 15 more to go. So I feel like I can call my surgery a great success. The only problem I am having is when I get tired or sloppy when I walk, and sometimes trip, catching my foot, causing my knee to bend back sharply, it is very very painful. Over the weekend I slipped and fell on wet pavement in our garage...after a not so pretty attempt to catch myself, down I went. Oh my gosh, it bent my knee back sharply and hurt so bad. I rolled around on the ground a minute, thankful that no one saw me go down. After a few minutes I was able to get back up, and I knew my new knee was ok. I was just wondering if anyone else has trouble if their knee bends back sharply. My doctor told me that he didn't know what it would be....possibly scar tissue and should get better with time. Are there exercises that I should be doing to help with that. Sitting here, I can bend my knees back with absolutely no pain....Anyone else having problems like this?View Thread
