I've always been a 'neat fanatic'...also being raised in a Military family it was something that was a MUST that my brothers & I did clean on a daily basis, during the week it was always light work, during the weekends we had alot too do. As I became a Mom I also instilled that same work ethic too my sons, which are now married. It really bothers me when things are out of place & not clean, even when I'm not feeling well I still make sure my apartment is clean, and living alone it's not that much work for me. Yes, I'm a little OCD...lol....

I think I'm going to get rid of the lovely huge baskets I own; the rest of the collapsible umbrellas; more clothes; beach stuff....;
Tomorrow I'm going to a recognition ceremony for an art contest of which I am one of the winners. It's exciting, but I have to dress in "business casual". If that means a 3-piece-suit, it will be more of a sweat suit than anything else.
The dress suit that wouldn't be too awful to wear needs ironing, but I'm not about to turn on the iron in this heat, with as little sleep as I've gotten.
Do you think the night fairies will use the humidity to loosen the wrinkles? I'll take it out of the closet and let it hang freely while I pray.

Something is wrong with my account, which is why I couldn't reply sooner.
I got a gift of a vacuum cleaner, but they gave me the wrong bags. So I ordered the correct ones online. I had to pick them up Saturday morning from the Post Office because I wouldn't have been able to pick them up on Sunday--Closed. I'm intending to have a fun time vacuuming in a few hours.

The mail just pours in--I hate magazines, memos, letters, bills, alumni news, charitable requests by the truckload, etc.
I'm kind of weary now. I will get to my pot stand (for cookware, not "smoking") tomorrow. I need to put quite a few pots back on the pot stand shelves. It's a lovely pot stand--wrought iron and triangular. I don't know if I will remove everything on it, or just figure out what went where. The latter sounds like the more practical choice. (I wanted to make cookies as gifts, but I'm really weary. I'll try to save energy to bake something on New Year's Eve or New Year's Day...)
I'm giving away a set of pots--I don't know why I bought them 2 years ago in the first place. They are 18/10 stainless steel and were a terrific sale, but I just don't need them. At least I learned from this and I don't intend to do this again.View Thread
Progress downstairs? That's great! For me the living room is the worst.
I hope you are having a wonderful day as well.View Thread
I hope your clinic visits turn out well.
I have made it to the beach many times this summer. I'm so very happy about that. What has me sad is that the days are getting cooler
I am, however, resolved to go to the beach year-round now just to get that refreshed feeling. It's good hearing from you.View Thread
Well, I need to start with the cleaning anyway, and I'll try that guy down the street whom I can afford, but I'm skeptical........
I hear what you are saying though.
Really, no one likes the dentist, but I think it makes us feel better if it is one we trust. At least that's my opinion, and of course, if we had lots of money to get our teeth fixed. I wish I did:)View Thread

My absolute favorite stuffed animals are from my mother and brother. I think I'm going to simply put them on the sofa and the love seat and not give a hoot about what anyone might think of them.
(About furniture and things that people discard: make sure they don't come with unwanted "guests" or bugs. I even hate to say the dreaded word, but there is a bed bug problem in many places.)
I'm getting a new bookshelf soon, and that will give me more storage space for a variety of things, including a place for stuffed animals.
It will soon be time for me to get rid of coats in the closet.
What's the good measure to use? Is it that if I haven't worn it in a year or 3 years, get rid of it? I will probably be getting rid of coats that I haven't worn.
I went to the beach yesterday--It was hot and calm in the city, but windy and cold at the beach. Just the same I went with a friend and her son. We had a great time.View Thread
