I've always been a 'neat fanatic'...also being raised in a Military family it was something that was a MUST that my brothers & I did clean on a daily basis, during the week it was always light work, during the weekends we had alot too do. As I became a Mom I also instilled that same work ethic too my sons, which are now married. It really bothers me when things are out of place & not clean, even when I'm not feeling well I still make sure my apartment is clean, and living alone it's not that much work for me. Yes, I'm a little OCD...lol....

I think I'm going to get rid of the lovely huge baskets I own; the rest of the collapsible umbrellas; more clothes; beach stuff....;
Tomorrow I'm going to a recognition ceremony for an art contest of which I am one of the winners. It's exciting, but I have to dress in "business casual". If that means a 3-piece-suit, it will be more of a sweat suit than anything else.
The dress suit that wouldn't be too awful to wear needs ironing, but I'm not about to turn on the iron in this heat, with as little sleep as I've gotten.
Do you think the night fairies will use the humidity to loosen the wrinkles? I'll take it out of the closet and let it hang freely while I pray.

I'm just sorting into piles now--recycle, trash, keep...I will be going through the Keep pile again and again until I can get rid of it...View Thread
I was supposed to get a delivery today that never came, which meant I couldn't go to a barbecue or the beach or babysit for a very good friend. The kick in the pants is that the delivery never came, even though they swore to me it would. So, I've waited about 10 hours for NOTHING.
Meanwhile, the house is a wreck because I had to move many things around. I don't know how I'm going to get this under control, but I have to try.
I guess the best thing is just to set the timer and grab a pile and just see what in the pile I can get rid of. I will be so glad when I can look back on this and say, That was a long time ago!View Thread
It will take a few weeks--I guess if things get really bad I can make an earlier appointment.
I wish I had the money to go to an excellent dentist, but I can do only what I can do.
I am proud of myself for making the appointment, one I have been putting off since late February!View Thread
I sprayed my pan with canola oil for easy cleanup. It's time for a break!
So what's your least favorite chore?View Thread

I washed all of the blankets and put them away for the summer--It was something like 12 loads. I got rid of the comforters that don't fit in the washing machines.
I washed all of the sheets and mattress covers/pads and put the clean ones on all of the beds, including the top bunk in the guest room--Getting rid of the top bunk is on my list of things to discard eventually--I am not fond of climbing.
I'm currently working on the night stand in another bedroom.
I arranged the chimes in the office/library/conservatory/etc....so that they can be seen, and perhaps heard, if that tornado comes this way and a breeze actually gets in here this evening.
I think it's the final curtain call for my vacuum. It was a good vacuum cleaner in its day. RIP.View Thread
Here is a video I found:) I like this. Simple and it makes sense. I can't think about being wasteful at this point. I really need to do this for my mental health so I can function better as a person.
I'm going to do this and watch this guys videos. They look good:)View Thread
I suddenly felt energized and started going through my closets and bagging clothes that either don't fit properly, have needed fixing but I haven't fixed them, etc and put them downstairs where most likely, they've been thrown out. I could have lugged them on public transportation, one day at a time, bag by bag, but I don't have that much time or that much energy. It's now or never.
Oh, the relief!
I got rid of bags of plastic bags, I the conscientious recycler. I put them where they can be recycled. I didn't look to see the ones I had saved for either sentimental or pragmatic reasons. I simply put them out.
My friend is helping me with all the chores that I find overwhelm me. He's helping me room by room. (He is) Priceless!
I also got a feng shui workbook that I pick up and follow.
I hung my chimes. I put my yarn projects in zippered clear plastic bags. I washed all of the blankets for all of the rooms. I put all of the paper in question into to large plastic closeable containers (so the cats can't get to them). I tackled the litterbox.
I feel quite accomplished now, and empowered. Inch by inch, slowly I turn...I want to have my house back by autumn, no later than winter of this year.View Thread
