What's Happening Now
3b lung here, not operable. 37 radiation treatments, plus 8 chemo., ending first round july09. second round treatment 5 chemo end in july10.
basic side effedts minimal. tumor pressing on aprta causes poor voice functions. most side effects were minimal in my case. however no cure to be found.
this week finds me in with the cancer returning. it now has a lesion of 1 cm and multi lesions [pinpoint>to brain.
big question now is treatment. have requested diagnostics go to md anderson for second opinion.
biggest problem for me [side effects> has been lack of feeling in feet. rubbed down with vicks helps that, cover with heavy socks.
anything else i can answer on this road , just ask.

The breathing is getting a little better. I make sure I take naps now. I know when I get tired, it gets worse.
I too have chronic pain exactly where you do . I don't know if it's always been there I just didn't realize it because I was vocused on the breathing . I see the surgeon in May after my CT. I will check with him & maybe I'll get us both some answers!

Oncologist told her whole brain radiation and lung radiation at the same time then start with chemo as soon as brain radiation is complete. He said she would feel better from the radiation and that the only side effect would be hair loss.
Somebody please tell me the truth. Does anyone live after this for more than six months? Thank you,View Thread

I was diagnosed withg stage 2 in the first of august after ct scans chest x-rays and bone & pet scans. I thought to myself if the cancer doesn't kill me all the radiation from the scans will, anyway i was to see a surgen to remove part of my upper right lung, but after my last scan they saw a hot lymph node by my liver & pancreas so they cancelled surgery. Now they are calling it stage 4 they to do 2 cycles of chem, alimta and carboplatin then have another scan. well we did that and scan came back the ones in my lung were swrinking and showed the node was still hot so 2 more cycles of chemo. the next scan showed the lunds was still swrinking but showed no evidence of any hot node in my abdomen sooo back to stage 2 and to see a surgen again oh happy days are here again, but they still wanted to do a biopsy on the node but it would take major surgery so i went to CTCA in Philadelphia they did the Biop through my back with just a scan and needle it was benign soooo yahoo surgery was back on. I could get this cancer out of me and back to work and start getting a check again we really need it anyway my oncologist wanted one more pet so we did and now i have a spot on my pelvic bone and the ones in lund have grown back in size soooo back to stage 4 and now he has me on taxotere and zometa which is bone killing pain so i think i'm going for another opinion, i just don't have any and i mean any faith in this doctor to many miss steps please let me know what you think
