My father who is not in the best of health to begin with, was recently founf ro have a 4cm lesion in his lung which was described by the pulmonologist as "cancer". The main problem here is dad has very advanced COPD. So they can do a bronchoscopy because he probably wouldn't make it through the procedure. They can't do a needle biopsy, because they feel that his lung would collapse and never re-inflate. So, for him that would be fatal as well. Consequently, we can't even have the biopsy done to tell which kind of cancer we're dealing with. He finally quit smoking 2 months ago, but has been smoking for almost 70 years. Does anyone know what the treatment options are in his case? Any info would be greatly appreciatedView Thread
