Hi, my name is Larry. I am 65 but only diagnosed with Lupus in 2009 although I have had symptoms since I was 12. There are not many men on this forum and in my case it took several years for me to accept this diagnosis. Like many others, there are times when I am totally exhausted and in great pain. I retired at 62 due to health issues (exhaustion, brain fog, asthma, and heart disease). Until I was diagnosed, my heart disease made no sense. I have never smoked, exercised often (31 years in Navy), and kept my weight down. I have cholesterol levels so low that it was difficult to believe I had heart blockages. Lupus explained alot when I finally accepted it and really studied up on it. Fortunately, my kidneys do not seemed to be involved (Yet). I only discovered this site two weeks ago and it has been a blessing to read many of your blogs. hard to get info that is not written for women only.View Thread
