My dermatoligist prescibes me Solarayze gel which I apply twice a day for three months and it really helps, but some still sneak through.
Good luck and stay vigilant.View Thread

Do you have a follow up with your physician scheduled, since you mention that you believe a part of the core remains ?View Thread

As far as tanning beds being banned. I don't believe they should be. People need to be educated on the dangers and take personal responsibility. It's just like consuming too much alcohol or smoking. Neither are banned but continued use can lead to major health problems.View Thread

I hope you continue to let us know how things are working out.View Thread

I have had squamous cell cancer before and it was located on my neck, however it was caught very early and removed with clear margins.
I wish you the best.View Thread

I always thought that the different increments with sunscreen represented how long you could go without reapplying more. Such as, spf30 meaning you could go 30 times longer in the sun without risking burns versus not applying any at all ?
If that makes any sense ?View Thread

After the first diagnosis and successful treatment the dermatologist suggested every six months and thats what I did, however since that was about ten years ago, now I only go for an annual check up.That was his recommendation.
As far as the speed of the skin check if your not satisfied try another practice or ask them to be more thorough to satisfy your uneasiness.View Thread

I have annual skin checks and generally the dermatoligist always finds one or two of these pre cancers and treats them on the spot.
I have read that most turn out benign however they can develop into a more serious form of skin cancer with time.
Speaking of wich I am almost due for another check and this time I know I have another spot that needs treated.
Sometimes it can be frustrating getting in to my dermatologist because it takes so long, and I believe that most of these type of practices are booming with business due to the awareness of skin cancer in general ?View Thread
