judging from my own experience, i'd say DON'T have surgery unless it's a last resort! i had to have a total hysterectomy when i was 32 because of a fibroid tumer the size of a grapefruit and it was instant menopause. listen to mary jane and try the meds. give them time to work and if you don't get relief have your dr try something different. best wishes, i know what you're going through.View Thread
I'm not sure if this is the right forum for this info but I think it's something that might be useful to many people. My mother and I have a history of uti. We've always loaded up on the cranberry juice at the first signs. Sometimes it helped and sometimes it didn't. Since her stroke my mother has been incontinent and has had trouble with frequent symptoms of bladder infection. Since most of her urine tests came back negative I started looking for other causes. Along with cranberry juice and pills we'd always been told to drink clear juices and sodas. But, while looking through a doctor's book on women's health I discovered that the acid in such drinks ,CITRIC ACID in particular, was actually CAUSING the painful symotoms! Also, from this book, I found out that antacid tablets like Tums or 1tsp of baking soda in a glass of water work quickly to neutralize the acid in urine and provide relief from the burning and pain. I hope this info helps you as much as it has us. GOD BLESS YOU and KEEP YOU.View Thread
