I'm 44 and going thru natural menopause for 2 years. Nobody can't explain to me why so early as it is not heritage. Unfortunately, I also have IC (interstitial cystitis) and IBS(irritable bowl movement ) since 35yo. My MP started very sudden, basically one day, my period just stopped and for over 1 1/2 y and don't have it. Positive side of this that my IC and IBS symptoms got better, but negative is what associated with MP : hot flashes, tiredness , headache , mood swings, joints pain, hair loss , dry skin, memory issues, low libido, dryness , skin drooping, etc. I always looked at least 10y younger than my real age and for the past year, I fell like aged at least 10years if not 15. My OG, urologist suggested to go on HRT as luck of hormones at my age would be essential problem for osteoporosis as I already diagnose with osteopenia as well as Alzheimer's desist, UTI . First I was put on Lo Loestrin Fe as mild birth control pill, but all my IC and IBS symptoms got worse. I had to stop. Then I was switched to low HRT pills - Progesterone 100mg and estrogen 1mg. I was feeling ok, but still experienced significant hair loss. I went to hormone specialist in NY that is pretty known in a field and does researches in this field for many years and also a specialist in OG, reproductive treatment and endocrinologist (by the way not covered by insurance, so I payed a lot of cash for consultation). She ran bunch of blood test and suggested to go on Vivelle dot patch as a better source of estrogen and Progesterone 200mg every 2 months for 10days. We started on patch of 0.5 dose, but it was not enough as hot flashes came back as well as other menopause symptoms, so she increased the dose to 0.75. Now I have an issue of anxiety attacks at night (I hope that what it is as it does feel like a hart issues for me). I'm not sure if anybody experience same issues. I would appreciate any feed back as well as suggestions as a lot of doctors I speak first don't even like idea of being on HRT as a cause of cancer and others not believing in BHRT. Myself - I'm not ready to give up on my youth and career as it really effects my life big time as I have pretty important job, husband and child that need me in a good health and mental stability.View Thread
